Pulled Jackfruit Baos with hoisin sauce, spring onions and cucumber 🥢🥒
✔️150g plain flour ✔️pinch of salt ✔️1/2 tsp baking powder ✔️1/2 tbsp caster sugar ✔️1 tsp fast action yeast ✔️25ml soya milk ✔️1/2 tbsp vegetable oil ✔️jackfruit (I used oumph)✔️hoisin sauce ✔️cucumber ✔️spring onion
• sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a mixing bowl and whisk in the sugar and yeast • add 50ml tepid water and milk and mix together • on a floured surface knead the dough for about 10 mins until it is smooth and elastic, add more flour if too wet • transfer to lightly oiled bowl and cover with cling film for 1 hour or until doubled in size • tip dough on to floured surface and roll out with your hands into a log shape. Cut into 5 equal sizes and roll each into a ball • using a rolling pin, roll each into an oval shape. Lightly oil the top of each with your finger • using a chopstick, fold each one over itself in half • remove chopsticks and steam baos for 10 mins • fry jackfruit with hoisin sauce and add to the baos with spring onions and cucumber

I’ve read some amazing things about Beyond Bread and so I was super excited to come here. I ordered the French toast and when it came, it was two relatively small slices of toasted brioche topped with mascarpone and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar (it cost £9). When i bit into the brioche, it was not soft/bouncy on the inside (what i expect from freshly baked bread) and the whole dish was actually quite tasteless. I asked for some maple syrup and that made it taste a little better but overall i left unsatisfied and sad 😢 #angeleats#beyondbread

•BLUES KITCHEN• Visited the Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch for their weekend brunch menu and decided to try the cheese burger with slaw and sweet potato fries 🍔🍟It was a great burger with lots of flavour and goegeous melted cheese 🧀 I also enjoyed the coleslaw which I could have done with a bigger portion of. Great, crunchy potato fries too. The ambience inside the Blues Kitchen is bustling and busy, I always forget how big the space is having usually rocked up there late in the evening. There was jazz and blues playing on the stage which is lovely to sit and listen to with a cocktail after you've finished your brunch. An excellent way to spent an afternoon🎷🎹🎺🎶

Stuffed with cranberry & orange and served with a saffron yoghurt sauce, this dish is perfectly fragrant, subtly spiced, with just a hint of Christmas! 🎄

So, there’s a brand new permanent vegan market at @trumanbrewery every weekend, called @houseofveganldn. WOOHOO! 🌱 It features some incredible traders & dishes, including the amazing @clubcultured Club Rib and Kimchini balls 📸 .
🍔 The Club Rib burger is stuffed with 2 day marinaded tempeh BBQ ribs, root veg remoulade, macerated tomatoes, baby gem lettuce topped with a homemade chipotle mayo, served on sourdough. .
Top tip? Bring napkins! This beast is saucy, messy and everything you want in a burger. It’s sweet, it’s smokey and it’s even a little fruity. There’s a mild heat too 🔥 The cheese is incredible 🧀 👏🏼 It tasted very realistic and really added to the overall flavour which is something vegan cheese doesn’t always achieve! The tempeh is simply brilliant. If you haven’t had tempeh before, make sure this is your first taste 🤤 The only feedback Chris and I had was that the sourdough was a little tough which made it hard to eat 🍞 .
The kimchini balls are also bloody BEAUUUTIFUL 😍 They’re packed with kimchi risotto flavoured with nori & sesame and a chunk of vegan mozzarella. They’re crumbed & fried until golden then topped with homemade yuzu mayo & toasted sesame seeds. Those crumbs, that melty cheese, the moist, creamy texture of the risotto, that perfect little dollop of divine mayo. These are honestly beautiful. Our only feedback was that we wanted more kimchi flavour 😋 .
I’m so proud of my friends @harrywatmough, @_jamesd_ & @cjordan_95, the tempeh specialists, who’ve created this. They’ve been working on the idea for a really long time and all of their hard work, passion and attention to detail is really clear to see from just a bite of their food 👏🏼♥️ Now get down there and support these lovely guys!
