So the stripping out continued at the #renovation in #knaresborough . The next part for me was to drop the ceilings and non load bearing walls up stairs. I was lucky that the house was built with high ceiling. So this got me thinking trying something new. With the loft floor joists, as all to often you struggle for head height in a #loftconversion or it's not that high in head height. So with a bit of research and triple checking I decided on going with #posijoist . There few reason for this. One is I only have to rest the top timber on the wall plate. The posi-joist can take a lot more weight. And they can be less depth in the span. And also it help with #eco technology. As the air recovery system can run through the house easier.and it will give me a nearly 2.5 high ceiling in the loft. And a 2.4 on the 1st floor. And gains me 6inch in head height by using the posi system.
The posi-joist where supplied through my local @buildbaseuk
October 2016 and @sean_toomey asks “Can you come and smash some walls down with me and Soph in our new home?”...”💯% mate” was my immediate response 🔨
This is a picture of Sean (of #renovationproud fame 😉) and me outside the house that many people have watched him renovate. Little did I know that I had already started to fall in love with the house and Soph’s sister @swebbstuff and I would eventually be buying the property from them. This happened in July and we are about to undertake some major renovation work converting the loft into an en-suite bedroom (full shed dormer). The second pic is the loft space we inherited and will be converting.
Plans, pics and vids to follow over the coming weeks 🎥 📸
Plus I’ll share an update to the spaces Sean and Soph created between now and Christmas and what we have done with them.
Work commences 7th Jan ✌🏿
Those chimney breasts tho 🔥😍
