When in Lisbon do as the locals do ... that means a mandatory Pasteis de Nata! To be honest ... I would eat these delicious Portuguese custard tarts anywhere in the world!
I spotted a bakery offering gluten-free / dairy free option so I decided to get both and do a blind taste test between the traditional one and the ‘free from stuff’ one. .
Here are the results: .
. - No taste difference between the two. Quite surprised. .
- Price difference significant: GF/DF was double the price of the traditional 😳
- Sugar content the same for both - about 3 heaped teaspoons per tart!
So the choice is yours ... either way, eat your Pasteis de Nata with as much awareness and pleasure, because at 250 kcal and about 20g sugar per tart ... you really want to make every mouthful count! .
I’ve heard lots complaints that American cities don’t differ from each other very much. What’s special about Indianapolis versus Boise? Chain restaurants and stores, for example, have eaten up much that was unique. In Iran, plenty of cities have commonalities. For example, mosques have similar forms and are all over. Bazaaris sell some of the same items for tourists and Iranians alike. But Bazaaris also sell the specialty rugs and handicrafts of the area (turquoise in Mashhad, leather in Tabriz, ceramics and cloth in Kashan). I love discovering the unique elements of each region. Some cities have placed dozens of portraits of martyrs (soldiers who died in the Iran-Iraq War) on many of their large buildings and busy streets. In Kashan, we learned that when a property owner dies, these structures, called hejleh حجله, are placed in front of each of their properties. #Iran#localculture#travel#travelgram#kashan#everydaykashan#hejleh
Kullu valley is well renowned for it's grand & illustrious Dussehra celebrations, a festival resounding the triumph of good over evil. A week-long festival celebrated in majestic style, Kullu Dussehra is one of the most popular events of Himachal Pradesh. Kullu with its' beautiful gorges, wondrous waterfalls, chatty mountain stream and ancient temples surely enthralls & attracts at lot of people, especially during Kullu Festival.

Oh my god!

Repost from @anomangusti
#forest#village#igers#igersbali#plazarenon#culture#localculture#travel#baliculture#balitravel#filosofi#tabanan
