What makes us human? Is it the opposable thumbs for holding our favorite beverage? Or perhaps that we walk upright? Nah - there’s got to be more to it than that man, c’mon. What about #FEELS bro?!
As humans we are part of a select subset of creatures that have a limbic system built into our brain. The function of this system is primarily related to human emotion. As mammals we have large limbic systems; as compared to our reptile friends who have relatively tiny limbic systems and not noted for the complexity of their emotional lives. We also have a cortex for abstract thinking, philosophy and remembering where you left your iPhone after you scrolled through IG for the seventh time today. If you get a stress response from an experience, an odor, a “feeling” or a sound, it is your limbic system that is involved. Having a favorite song, favorite food, or experience fits here too. 🎵 🍕
You could argue this is what makes being a human being such a challenging, demanding, but also rewarding existence. It comes down to the complexity of our emotional lives. Home stress, work stress, choosing which friend to hang out with over the weekend, whether or not to call that nagging family member - that is arguably from your limbic system at work in the background.
Plain and simple, having this emotion makes life hard. Having this section of our brain exposes us to anxiety, depression, and frustration, but also allows us to experience spurts of happiness, joy, and other emotional highs. 🏔
Pair this with the fact that our brains are subject to the influence of countless neurotransmitters and hormones and it sets the stage for a pretty wild ride through life. So next time your questioning a challenging moment, remember - you are human, and your emotional state is what allows you to experience highs and lows, contrary to the little gecko on the Geico commercial, or the salamander in your backyard. 🦎
It's about making the decision. It's about commiting to that decision. It's about making sure your language, your actions, and every facet of your life aligns with that decision. That's how we make changes. That's where manifestation starts to occur.

I just watched a program where a 91 year old got to sing on stage for the first time ever.
He called it a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity
He was sweet and I was so happy for him... It took 91 years to do this
And he seemed not all that healthy
Which is all normal
And expected... But it kinda made me sad... I had to catch myself because the race consciousness is soooooo pervasive... You find yourself thinking that it is normal to wait until your 90s to do the things you want to do
You find yourself thinking that it is normal to get sicker as you grow older... You find yourself beating yourself up for thinking that it can be any different than that
You find yourself feeling delusional for thinking there is another way
And yet, I do believe there is another way
I do believe I do not have to wait
I do believe that I do not have to get sicker or ill-er as I get older unless I allow it to happen by accepting it as the norm... I do believe that you are DEFINITELY going to get ill if you keep denying yourself the things you really want because you tell yourself that you have to be responsible and logical and sensible... You are literally blocking energy throughout your body causing things to die as they are no longer connected to Source... This is not normal thinking, I know... And yet, as divine beings, it should be!
So, to all you new breed leaders out there, please realise that practically EVERYTHING in your current existence is convincing you subtly that what you see is all you can have... It takes some serious doing to break free of the normal stuff
Everything wants you to remain the same
Everyone around you probably thinks you are crazy for thinking you can do, be, have more... the TV is teaching you to be content with the status quo
Movies... The news... Most things you read on the internet... Ultimately, it is gonna take some serious focus and determination to break free... Are you willing?

How can I be truly happy!? While there are a few theories about the HOW, I have come to believe that there really is only one way,
Not to fall into scarcity mindset of course, but really if you want to experience
And lasting happiness,
Then there really is only one way for this to happen, and no,
It's not to become Lady Gaga, although I am sure she is all of these things!! No.
There is a core theme that will give you true happiness, and when you know about it, you will feel
And maybe even a little silly that you didn't realise that it can be THAT EASY!! Now, let it be said that it is not always easy to DO,
But the concept is simple,
And I am going to share it with you in the absolute best way that I know how....... And it's going to be epic,
And I'm not going to promise you won't even wee a little in your pants when I tell you about it, so be ready for that!!! But I am NOT going to tell you now, because where is the fun in that!? I will be releasing this little surprise TOMORROW,

This Week's Tip - Stop Comparing Yourself To Mythical Creatures.. Am I wrong to call them mythical creatures? Maybe probably but for fancy language aesthetic I couldn't resist. It does add an air of "je n'ais c'est quoi" non?
But this post is really just to bring forth the luxed up quality of living we are all craving stemming from hours of time downpour on social media accounts we admire. Yes "culprit here"...But is it truly luxe? It is it truly "non-fiction"
Well society has a way of sucking us in with it's enchanted siren call... you know like sailors in the ocean yearning for some touch...but are you biting? Are you being hypnotized into believing that this is what "quality of living" is truly about?
Well, I for one have experienced it and I can tell you first hand how much I responded to that call.... it felt good.. but it also felt ....unreal.. You get off the boat, jump into the sea only to really find out that it's not just all buttercups & meadows...or maybe the correct term is "sunshine & rainbows". But unicorn farts also sounds appealing... True Quality Of Life Is Defined By YOU!! How do you want your life to look like, feel like, sound like, taste like?? It's ok, for our dear sirens to enjoy their sweet cup of sea, but what about you? What do you truly desire? Maybe you're not all fancy Lamborghini & infinity pool life. That's nice too. But maybe you truly desire and ENJOY lovely days by the seaside, or months in the mountains, or cafe people gazing in the beautiful streets of Paris...or eating fries every other day "like me"
It all depends on you. But unless you define what your quality of living looks like, you may find yourself easily being sucked into the siren calls of say..."the social luxe life". With much love... xx Menellia

I was lucky enough to see Sir Chris Hoy being interviewed by the BBC 5 Live and he talked about what British Cycling had implemented that had created such success for them in the last Olympics and these Commonwealth Games. The key mindset for them is a strategy called Marginal gains.
Marginal gains are small or insignificant changes they make to their processes. Tiny things like bringing their own mattress when travelling for events, so that it feels like they are sleeping in their own bed which means they get a better nights sleep and can perform better the next day. These gains and changes on their own seem insignificant YET when they are all added together mean the difference between winning gold or coming 4th.

Hope everyone’s had a lovely weekend and feel rested and ready to tackle the working week. I know we’re all so busy, at this time of year, there’s always a million and one jobs to do but, remember, to take a little time for YOU..... I’m still going to be working out, as normal, over the festive period and eating as healthily as I can although, I’m certainly not going to miss out on any tasty treats either!😉
But, it’s easy to become slightly stressed and frazzled, at Christmastime, so taking those precious self care “time outs” is hugely important.... 30 minutes of yoga, for example, calms the mind and body and replenishes your energy reserves. That’s on my plan for today💖🧘🏼♀️

In zwei Wochen ist Weihnachten.🎄Hui! Im Moment fühlt es sich ganz weit weg an.
Und doch bekomme ich über Freunde, Familie und über euch mit: der Weihnachtsstress ist real! 😄 Geschenke wollen besorgt werden, Kekse backen, Weihnachtsmärkte besuchen, to-do-Listen vor dem Jahresurlaub werden länger und irgendwo dazwischen soll es dann doch auch bitte besinnlich sein.
In den letzten Jahren habe ich mich selbst dabei erwischt, wie ich dem kollektiven Stress, der Hektik und dem „ich-muss-allen-etwas-kaufen“ verfallen bin.
Aber muss ich das wirklich? 🤔Wie kann ich Glück verschenken und gleichzeitig Ruhe in die Vorweihnachtszeit bringen, die doch genau dafür da ist.
In den nächsten Tagen teile ich dazu ein paar Tipps mit dir. Wie hört sich das an? Was stresst dich am meisten in der Weihnachtszeit?

🇬🇧 Two weeks until Christmas! 🎄Well… at the moment this is far away for me.
But then I see my friends, my family and also you struggling with the Christmas stress 😄 Getting all the presents, baking cookies, visiting Christmas markets, long to-dos before the final holidays and where did the quite and calm time go?
During the last years I caught myself joining the collective stress, the rush and the „I-have-to-get-a-present-for everyone“
Is that really what it has to be like? 🤔 Can’t a get someone just happiness for Christmas? How can I bring back the calm to me pre-Christmas-period?
