Day 200 of the year,! Are you on track with your New Years’ resolutions? I no longer wait for the new year to set my goals and/or start work towards achieving them. One thing about waiting is, you’re never going to feel like it’s the right time. Don’t wait till you ready to do something, by just starting you will propel the right ideas to show up in your head & overtime you can only get better at your craft.
Honestly, if I could be anywhere right about now, this would probably be it. I’m in that warm weather mood that calls the heart for blankets on the grass, a good book, low music, and a late night where the stars peak out. It’s the quiet nights that speak the loudest in my memories.
This Arizona state park was established in 1985, but prior to that, tourists could stay in small cabins along the walk to Oak Creek. It was initially an apple orchard, and it shows with its orderly yet imperfect rows of knobby apple trees. Down the way after passing the gift shop, right before the stairs to the swimming area sat a large factory-like building labeled “Apple Packing Shed”. It was grey and somber looking, sagging with age. If you ever visit Sedona in the summer, it takes 20 bucks to park one car chock full of your buddies at Slide Rock. Since monsoon season is from June through September, the blueberry blue storm clouds will start rolling in around 2pm sending shivers down your skivvies. 🍏
New Zealand Part 2 (late post): Ferried back from Waiheke to Auckland to drive down to Waitomo, where we strapped on helmets and headlamps (plus cold wetsuits with assistance from each other 😂 ) to trek, tube, jump and slide off waterfalls in the incredible glow worm caves for 3 hours. Had the BEST time (proof is in pic #5 lol). All pics inside the cave courtesy of @legendaryblackwaterraftingco since we weren’t allowed to bring in our own cameras. Afterwards continued the drive through the countryside down to Rotorua. #waitomo#northisland#waitomoglowwormcaves#newzealand#wilderNYS#lifeofadventure#livetoexplore cc: @itsmeremi @christineroxy
