Man, that talks deep into our daily lives. We all suffer pain, discouragement, & emptiness. Feeling and experiencing it is the worst to ever come. Weakens you from the inside and holds the negative energy within. Sometimes, we don't understand how strong we are because we allow the situation to grab and stick on to us for as long as it keeps hurting us. I've learned and still learning that if we grow over it, it won't overcome us. We are strong enough to withhold anything and everything. It all matters on how thick of layers of skin do you have or can develop. We got to stay strong. We have to stay united. And we have stay as One!☝🏿 #BeStrong#LiveStrong#StayStrong
I think it is time to share a small part of my story..
On August 18, 2010 I decided to end my role as an obese person and underwent the lapband procedure. The decision was literally overnight. The pain and the side effects of such a major surgery were oh so not fun. My blood sugar dropped and the pain from the naseua and heaving dropped tears from my eyes. The intestinal issues from the medication caused bloating and constipation, but I wasn't eating much anyway, so there was nothing to pass. I would have about a cup and a half of homecooked broth A DAY for about a month. I then began to add gerber food and anything mushy and easy to digest for about 3 weeks. My first solid meal was actually a boiled egg and a pinch of shredded chicken. I ate like a bird. Every 3 hours I had a "snack" which I loved. It was not easy. Having to rewire your brain to take minuiture bites at a time and chew so many times. I wouldn't eat bread, potatoes, tortillas, rice, pasta. Anything that could stick to itself and would not pass down. A couple of years in, I began to juice, went vegan, biked about 6 miles 3 times a week, hit the gym everyday except sundays, meal prepped, you name it. My life was completely different. In essence I had forced myself into new and better habits. I needed that change. The surgery helped alot, but I still wanted to prove to myself that it was because of me and my healthy decisions on a daily basis that allowed me to stay healthy. Fast forward to June 2017. My uncle, who had also recieved the procedure, had gained most of his weight back, so he decided to undergo a second procedure. While removing the band, they found it to be incarnated into his stomach which caused some complications in the procedure. Thank God it was nothing life threatening, but he will always have a piece of the band stuck to his stomach. When we were alerted the news, I yelled, "I knew it!" About a year before, I had told my mom I was wanting to save up to have it removed. I knew it was helpful for the time being, but it was my daily habit that would allow me to continue a healthy life. One year later and here I am. 😏😁 345 down to 215.. If you want change, stick to it. #wlcmchng
For #women who would like to run for political office, don’t ever let anyone tell you that you’re not qualified or that you don’t have the experience. If you find something that you really want to do or fix, lean in and go for it.

“Bob Norman has my highest recommendation and respect. He is full of nothing but honesty, and pursuing the effort of helping others in their lowest and encouraging/supporting them in their highest moments. I can not express how genuine he is and his mission in helping others!!” bit.ly/2Mrmevi #bestlife101#designyourlife#livestrong#empathy#kindness#growth
Legs Up the Wall Pose (or Viparita Karani) is a restorative yoga posture that allows the mind and the body to relax, relieving stress and tension. It is one of the most approachable yoga poses, as it doesn’t require much flexibility or strength. Even though it’s a passive pose, its benefits are pretty amazing. It gives you all the benefits of inversion, without the effort. Benefits of Legs Up the Wall Pose:
•Facilitates venous drainage and increases circulation
•Soothes swollen or cramped feet and legs
•Stretches the hamstrings and lower back
•Relieves lower back tension
•Massages internal organs and calms the nervous system. •Boosts energy
Legs Up the Wall is exactly as it sounds. Lie on your back with your sit-bones as close to the wall as is comfortable for you. Try not to bring the body to a full 90 degree angle though, this can impede circulation at the hips. Instead, slide your hips a few inches from the wall. Maybe even elevate your hips by placing a cushion, block or blanket under your sacrum. From there, extend your legs up the wall and arms may rest at your side.
I typically recommend resting in this pose for at least 10 minutes, but even hanging out for a minute or two will help. Try it out this evening! #happyhollowwellness#livestrong#getstrong#bethebestversionofyou#restorativeyoga#selflove#selfcare
