the next layers have gone down. I’m having to be more specific with what paint I put down when, especially seeing that my “studio” is really just a chunk of hallway in our apartment. But I’m also finding that it’s freeing me up and encouraging me to leave things the way they are. For instance, the painting on the left is already feeling close to done. I’m going to draw back into it once the paint dries, but the curb is staying as is and I may not add anything else to the peach tree shapes in the back. The painting on the right is getting more layers of white in the background and more grays on the bottom. Keeping it mostly neutral here. But feeling super free and not weighed down. Will be working on the #littlepaintings tomorrow and in the next few days because #oilpaint takes FORVER to dry - particularly long with white mixed in. I MAY even finish the littles by next week. I’ll shoot for Wednesday. #lindseyriesstudio#newwork#neutralpalettewithpopsofcolor
