Arrived in Beijing at 5 am. Got to @holidayinn Express Beijing Dongzhimen at 7.30 am. Showered. Had long, lasting Chinese breakfast. Around noon, I felt close to crashing. Drinking water didn't help. So I went to bed until 5 pm.
For the past eighteen years, I have tried every way to beat the exhaustion intercontinental travel brings with it. The recipe that proved most successful? Following the rhythm of the time zone I'm travelling to, without going against what my body tells me is the right thing to do.
So I snoozed. From noon until 5 pm. Feeling refreshed, I got ready for dinner. After a great first night in 'Jing', I slept all through the night. After that, my body and mind were happy and able to go with the Beijing flow.

Got this new dress last night fo $7 bucks #HOLLA —I don’t think you guys understand how excited I am being a barista again🙈🙌🏻
Growing up I was always wearing sweats, T-shirt’s, and north face jackets😂 because I was always ashamed of my body, trying to hide it in bigger clothes...☹️ but now a days I’ve been finding myself SO pumped on the few days I do work at the coffee shop because it means I get to dress up and feel extra pretty🥰 by CHOICE👌🏻
This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I got this new side hustle👏🏻 I feel like myself again and it’s helped pull me out of the funk I was in after everything that’s happened this year.. I’ve been told since starting that “I can do better than a barista job” whatever the fuck that means😂 —If working a stressful, miserable corporate job that gives me anxiety and health problems is your opinion of “better...” then I’ll just agree to disagree with you on that one😉 How could a gig that makes me this happy be a bad thing? Riddle me that🤔🤪?!
It’s important to do what’s best for YOU, whether people approve of it or not. It’s your life to live💖
PS I know I haven’t been posting to my page as much lately but I’m still sharing things daily on the good ol’ IG stories; that’s typically where I post my meals, recipes, and workouts😘 & that’s all for today folks, Happy Saturday✨
One of the reasons I love and use social media is that I got to listen to and meet Elizabeth Peru yesterday.
She was one of the speakers on the main stage and I wouldn't have known who she was had I not been following her for a long while now. I follow her because she is inspiring. She is a cosmic guide, spiritual teacher and motivational speaker.
We only met briefly, but it was great.
She facilitated a live meditation and we all joined in on how to listen to your heart. Your heart is deep and direct and that's the direction to go in. She spoke some loving truths and it felt great to see her in real life, she just 'knows'.
Anyone else not able to sit still long enough to meditate 🙋🏻♀️?
There is truth to the idea that whatever we find difficult is what we really need the most. I believe that meditation being difficult for me means I need to work on it, which I am. This is NOT to discourage anyone from meditating, including myself 😉.
This is to say that above anything else, always listen to yourself and your own body over anyone else. When searching for how to cope with anxiety, the most common advice is to meditate. This past week, as I experienced anxiety, I tried to meditate. It gave me worse anxiety. I tried again. And again. Why? Because that’s what all the experts tell you to do. I finally tuned into my own self. What was I needing? Not what someone on Instagram was telling me, or even a medical professional. My body wanted to MOVE. It felt good. I wanted to spend time curled up in bed watching super hero shows. I wanted to give myself space and time and stop trying to “fix” myself. Just be, just feel what I’m feeling and trust that I will work through it. Which I did.
So whatever you are going through, trust yourself. Yes, see medical professionals, get a coach, research, try what other people are doing, but above all, know that you already have everything within you. You do not need anyone’s approval or validation. No one knows better than you what you need.
Do you agree? Hope you all have an amazing weekend ✨ All my love, Jak.
Use every opportunity possible to be a voice for the animals. Never be silent. We must do everything we can to protect the innocent and educate others in the process. Be the change you wish to see in the world. 🌱✊🌱
God doesn't make good or bad people; that's a myth. He just makes people.
Sometimes they do good things, sometimes not so good. But the beauty is, is that you get to wake up and choose everyday.
As long as you're choosing to do the good things then, you're good. ✨
||• MmmmHmmm•|| I'm going to just drop this amazing wisdom on you today. Let it percolate beautiful souls.

No words. 💓🌈🌱💚🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♀️
Let’s make some magic!💫You have the power to create and build the life you want simply because you are you✨ Through the thoughts you have, the words you choose to speak, and the actions you decide, or decide not to take, you are always crafting and building your reality.
What are you creating today?
You can feel at home in the unlikeliest places. This strange little town, shabby and rough around the edges but also magical with its deer everywhere, unexpected cute coffee shops, whimsical restaurants, friendly people and pretty nature is so good for my soul.
I love living like a college student again, sharing a little 70s house with a roommate and 2 dogs, and having all this time to myself. I didn't know I needed it, but turns out, I did. What a gift to have no other responsibilities but your job and yourself. I didn't appreciate it when I was in college, wanting nothing more than a boyfriend and feeling lonely without one.
But now? I adore it. And it's even better when your husband surprises you and shows up unexpectedly to take you out for dinner.
We're dating again, and after 16 years together it's exciting and wonderful.
What I'm learning is that what may look weird to others can be your ideal life. I had no idea it would be like this, but I listened to my instinct and went for it. Never miss a chance just because it's outside the norm. If something in you tells you to go for it, listen to that voice! It's rarely wrong.
