I’m starting to feel like a human again after being down with a stomach bug for the past two days. Mango popsicles have been keeping me alive the last 48 hours so in honor of that, I give you this carefree eating a mango in a tent at sunset shot. ✌🏼#dehydrated
I recently turned 25 and that was a big deal for me. 25 sounds SO much older than 24... and not to mention, it’s a quarter of a century. But age, as everyone says, is really just a number🌞Numbers have always gotten to me and I decided that this time, I wouldn’t let them. My first response to 25 was to think of where I thought I would be at this age- more financially successful, more impactful, maybe living not where I grew up, maybe a career woman, if you will. Then I looked at my life- this year has been one full of reshaping perspectives and reorganizing priorities- and I saw everything of what my life truly is. I am surrounded by so much love. I have the absolute best tribe of people to call family, to call soul mates. I have a job where I get to work with little angels of children every day. I have days full of moments where I laugh till I cry. I have soul fulfilling conversations. And these past 6 months, I think I’ve had the most genuine belly laughs, the most times where I almost spit out my drink from giggling. I have the BEST collections of little moments- of canoeing down rivers, of making up games out of everything, of dancing every morning, waking up at sunrise to see a crater or just the beautiful colors, of smashing pumpkins, of collecting rocks, of eating an apple with my friends on top of a literally lilac colored mountain🦄 And if I’ve realized anything, it’s that the little moments are everything. I have my whole life for the big ones. And I WILL have them. I DO have them. But for now, my 25 year life of having so many silly, goofy, giggle inducing memories that I will NEVER forget is the best thing I could’ve asked for. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and I feel pretty damn successful in the ways it’s meaningful to me❤️ So here’s to 25. Here’s to not rushing. Here’s to loving life for exactly what it is and not what I think it should be☀️
That sassy skier in the background though 😂 First day of the season and I felt fiiiine 🙌 I shared my location in my stories and two of my buddies from college saw it and found me on the mountain!!!! 😯😍 10/10 day

Don’t cry for me Argentina🌹Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be back in South America so soon after the trail, but if you’re open to it, life will surprise you in ways you never thought possible. This time around, urban hiking through Buenos Aires, rain or shine & exploring a few more countries in South America. #argentina 🇦🇷
Nothing makes me @Im_NicoleMarie happier than a summit sign... especially when the trail leading up to it is covered in a fresh winter white!
Who else is getting out there for snow hikes 🙋♀️?
I read something (in, “Training for the New Alpinism”) recently that resonated with me: “It is not our natural tendency to value struggle over success...”.
Isn’t that the truth? Don’t we see a day spent falling and failing as less valuable than a day spent coasting? Obviously, we’re wrong, though. There’s really very little value in continuous success, other than in the success itself. But in struggle? There’s value from start to finish. We see things as they are, without the filter of comfort and contentment. And maybe that stings for a little bit, but it is, after all, valuable. Because if you aren’t struggling, you’ve probably plateaued. And I’ll take jagged, steep peaks over plateaus any day.
• (But... don’t quote me on this the next time I’m struggling at skiing or snowboarding or ice climbing or on a difficult hike 😛)

Taking some time to study what I want to be in 2019: A light house.
The kind of person that even on your darkest night or through your shittiest storm shows you a little light to guide you through.
Of course sometimes it might sound like a fog horn 😂

@riley_husky_adventures is the love of my life, and you should be following him instead of me. 🐺
