Form broke a bit but that’s quite alright. Having a lot of fun finding my 1RMs this week as I haven’t maxed out in a while. Next week starts a LP to try and bump these rookie numbers. Eeked out 285 with a tiny touch from @roypettingill and hit an all time PR on the squat at 385 on Monday. Weighed in at 169. Not upset with it but not finished.

First iron man 70.3 thoughts: . .

I woke up Thanksgiving morning with the day to myself and over my morning cup of coffee thought "I wonder if I could do a triathlon". After looking up the distances I decided it was too short, and went for the iron man 70.3. . .

Without any training or prep I finished my coffee and drove to a pool. Then I went home and grabbed some water and 4 gels I had left and filled my mountain bike tires and left. . .

Eveything was good until about mile 30 when I'd run out of water and gels. . .

For the run I refilled my water and found another gel and banana in my gym bag. Around the half way point my body was toast and slowed down a ton including walking a mile. But, I finished. . .

No prep, no specific training, and on maybe 1k calories total while not having swam or biked in years, I still finished. Alone and unafraid, no support or aid stations, just keep moving. . .

You can do far more than you think. It's only by finding the edge of your limits that you're able to increase them and go beyond. That's for eveything in life. .

- Squats (2x8)
- Bench press (2x8)
- Deadlift (2x8)
- Bent over row (2x8)
- Shoulder press (2x8)
- Knee-to-outside-elbow plank (2x60s)
- Bicycle kicks (2x60)
- Weighted Russian twist (2x30)

This has a very different feel from how I was lifting before (used to do 3x15) so I have got to start lifting heavierrrrrr.

There are many things that I am not when I run: 
1️⃣ I am not the fastest runner, in fact, I’ve always been middle-back of the pack since high school. 
2️⃣ I am not the most graceful runner. I step in potholes and puddles... sometimes I trip over my own two feet when I get distracted by thoughts.
3️⃣ I am not the most confident runner. I often battle against my mind and fears of not being able to meet my own standards/goals. 
4️⃣ I am not the thinnest runner. Sometimes when I tell people I run/have run a marathon, I get a response of “oh, I never would have pegged you as a runner.”

But more important than all of that is the one thing that I always AM when I run.

First time meal prepping and I’ll be honest- not sure its for me. However I’ll give it a go for a bit and see if it helps me stay on track better and reach my goals! • • • Eggs, chocolate Kodak cakes waffles, berries for breakfast • Fish, rice and quinoa, and veggies for lunch and dinner. • I didn’t prep snacks because I’m too tired!!! Today was a ‘rest’ day which means I never ran faster than an 11 minute mile pace and I could walk as much as I wanted.

Day 28 of 5k everyday started off with 45 minutes of kickboxing in woodland park. 
Next came a quick banana snack followed by a chill adventure to find a new trail. 
One of the trails I found is called ‘Star Wars.’ It was meant to be.

Day 27 of running 5k (or more) everyday. I ran with my coach today (who is pretty much a badass). His ‘slow’ pace is my all out race pace which made this little ‘easy jog’ especially hard. 
However I got some FANTASTIC help with my form so I’ll suffer through the pain to get the advice.

Confession: I haven’t washed my hair in days. I haven’t shaved my legs in weeks (maybe months, not sure). What I HAVE done is run 5k for 24 days in a row now. 
Since I have not washed my hair, the sweat from this daily 5k is actually getting a little gross. Maybe I should change up my to do list tomorrow to accommodate a good scrub.

First 5k in the snow. Yesterday was 60 and today is 30.  It’s all part of the process. 
I had a great time finding footsteps to follow and laughing at the little kids in huge snow suits who can barely move - Christmas story style.

Fun day yesterday.  Started with a 12 mile run.  Lifted 170 on bench and 320 on deadlift.

That was my original goal. Why? Well they say it takes 21 days to create a habit so let’s see how I feel about running now. Does it feel like a habit yet? 
Honestly, not really. Will I keep running? Hell yeah! 
It doesn’t take a habit to make something part of your life.
