What you NEED to know before you visit Cape Sounion 👇👇 ______________________________________________
This place has been on top of my bucket list for a very long time! This was our third time in Greece, and I finally planned a perfect day trip to Cape sounion.... or so I thought 😏
We rented a car because we really wanted to enjoy the beautiful Coastline drive up to the cape, however as we traveled offseason we realized most of the taverns that were recommended to us already closed for the season.
By the time we made it up the cape it became extremely windy that it was virtually impossible to enjoy the views surrounding the cape. We then waited a few hours until sunset because we were told that you can view the most beautiful sunsets from the cape.
You know me, I love taking pictures during Sunset hours and somehow the Personnel at the cape requested my boyfriend and I stop taking pictures because they believed it was for commercial purposes. Given, everybody up on the cape was taking pictures, we were the only ones requested to stop taking pictures because we had professional gear and as I was told my dress was quite fancy so they believed it was for commercial purposes.
Due to the language barrier, I was unable to properly communicate that the pictures were for personal use and so we decided to leave the cape and watch the sunset from a different Viewpoint because at that point we were tired, and extremely frustrated.
Luckily, we had the most magical drive back to Athens and finally I was able to tick off my bucket list the visit to the cape.
Did you ever have a dream day turn into a complete nightmare?

There is so much art in Rome, it feels like the walls must be running out of space. Museums filled to the brim with some of the greatest works ever produced by man. Iconic statues hover around what seems like every street corner, and between historic architecture and pastel painted buildings even the most mundane streets feel decorated for our viewing pleasure. And yet.... watching the sunrise seep through these arches is the greatest masterpiece I have witnessed here in Italy.
Art is all around us, always, and you don’t need to travel an inch or spend even a penny to see it. Whether we’re watching or not, the sun puts on a miraculous show every morning and every evening. I, for one, intend to take in as many of these as I can. 🙏🏻🌅
These baby Hippos will make everything better.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year ✨
Or isn’t it? For some it might be the most stressful time of the year and I never really understood that. If it isn’t fun buying presents for your loved ones or decorating a tree why should I do it? Because everyone does it? I buy presents because I love surprising someone, not because I have to.
And by the way, I haven’t decorated a Christmas tree since 2 years now, because I haven‘t bought one 😉
What do you think?
Is December stressful for you?
This one is just for me. I woke up this morning and all of the versions of me that I had worked so hard to meet over the last 365 days were still here. This was the most incredible year of my life, it had the lowest lows and the highest highs. The person I am is someone I’ve worked really hard to not default and hide. I’m intelligent and persistent and funny and beautiful and incredibly stubborn and a fighter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve learned to need people and to also not need anyone else to tell me the things that I already know about myself. Both can live in the same world. At some point in 25, I made a conscious decision to take up space and worked to tear down the walls that limited me. My life is happening on purpose lately. I like that when I woke up this morning it was me and 5am by ourselves for a little while and that the silence was a friend. I like that yesterday I submitted a fellowship application for a third time because I got rejected twice before. I like that the people I have around me protect my right to be, to mess up, to not be perfect, to be in the process, to live, to love. I’m 26 today and I like that I’m building on a person I grew to love immensely during 25.

Tucked deep into the jungles of western Belize is the fascinating Mayan complex of Caracol. Less famous than its Guatemalan neighbor Tikal, Caracol was nonetheless a massive and important center of Mayan life, culture, power, and industry. It is located about two hours south of the town of San Ignacio, a regional capital and fantastic base for exploring the many wonders of Belize’s green and mountainous west.
Because of Caracol’s remote location, it is much less heavily trafficked than similar Mayan ruin sites. As a result, we had the complex almost entirely to ourselves and were able to scale and explore the temples and other structures that would have been off-limits at more popular locations. Our connection to the place felt deeper, our appreciation for the architecture was uninhibited, and we could take our time learning about the fascinating people who used to live, work, and travel in this mysterious place.
Caracol is just one of the many exciting places to visit in the San Ignacio area. In today’s new blog post, I’m sharing some of my favorite things to do in San Ignacio, Belize! Check it out using the link in my profile.
A woman from the Kayan tribe - also known as the «long-necks» or «giraffe women». While some Kayan women in the last decade have opted to stop wearing the brass rings, many continue to do so as they see this as an expression of the traditional Kayan culture and as a way to keep it alive. The origins of the custom are less clear, some say it is was to prevent fatal tiger attacks, orhers claim it was to imitate the long neck of dragons, from which the group’s traditional religious beliefs hold that Kayan people are descended.
