Just two California girls experiencing autumn in Maine for the first time! 😍@Mayandtravel and I are both from Los Angeles but never managed to connect until Maine brought us together! We had so much fun exploring, leaf peeping (see previous post 😜) and eating tons of lobster.
Who would you go explore Maine with? Tag a friend!

BAMBOO BASKET // Baskets are my weakness...this one is entirely made of bamboo with delicate metal wire holding the rim of the frame together - perfect as a citrus or fruit catchall 💛
Measures 9”L x 10.5”W x 9”H and has a shallow belly at around 2” deep.
We're loving our reversible Squares Border placemat in Blue/Green on block printed Birds On Vine tablecloth. Flip every other placemat on the table for a fun checkered look at your next dinner party! #marigoldliving#mixandmatch#blueandgreentheme
That one time we car camped in Alabama Hills, but I guess it’s not really car camping because no one was able to fall asleep because of how uncomfortable we were 😂
I distinctly remember being really excited about this wild landscape, being really tired from driving all night and not sleeping, and really good biscuits and gravy that I had at a diner right outside of this area.
Also, shout out to my cute crossover that has taken me to some of the best places this year 🖤
When the outtakes become one of your faves... Upon arriving in the town of Banff I pulled out my tripod and realized I brought the wrong base to screw my dslr in 🤦🏽♀️ so my tripod was completely useless at this point. If you’re a solo traveler/photographer/content creator you rely heavily on tripods to be able to capture your vision (especially in Banff when I knew it was likely I’d be trying to photograph in areas away from the crowds). But alas, I improvised just as I did in Sri Lanka after I left my previous tripod on the train 😑 and made makeshift “tripods” everywhere I went. This was one of my first shots - I had placed my camera on my backpack because it was the highest thing I had at the moment - and the camera actually slipped as it took the photo. I went back to rearrange it and checked the image and realized “hey, I actually really dig it!”🤔🙃
I was asked this week about my favorite spot in Miami & of course, I answered Wynwood. The neighborhood’s blocks of colorful street art and creative business owners inspire me with every visit. Special shoutout to one of my very favorites @dasherandcrank, whose founder is so passionate about making the coolest and tastiest flavor combinations. All my love to @wynwoodmiami!

#SayItLouder & #SELFCARE : Setting #RealisticGoals .
I have been utilising my blog and Instagram as platform for #selfcare and #selflove . Truly a big step to prioritise, addressing and accepting myself. In therapy, we are often given homework like the ‘Grateful Five’ or ‘The Five Minute Journal’ for instance, all with the purpose to be more mindful and live with intention. However, these set homework never seem to work for me - I find myself trying to “make” gratefulness for the sake of completing my homework instead of identifying them. What I have found useful for me is having an overarching project that encompasses the idea of #livingwithintention - there birth “A Fawn’s Home”. This just comes to show how self care is different for everyone. I know that I have been in many ways “slacking” off with this project despite putting pressure on myself with various goals. I have a backlog of post ideas and edited photos/ my Instagram feed is a mess... BUT in this process of “procrastination and anxiety” i have learnt that a lot of self-care is learning to give yourself a break and acknowledging what you have accomplished rather than what you haven’t. Although I’ve been feeling a little defeated trying to set goals and not meeting them because of anxiety- I’ve started to apply steps to staying on top of goals - read about it on my blog, coming soon! // #ModClothSquad @modcloth
