Up close and personal with one of our favorites: crunchy honeycomb caramel! Fun fact: the name comes from the holes in the caramel that make it look like a comb of honey. It is one of the first caramels we ever dipped in chocolate. Susa gave them as presents during Christmas in Venezuela almost two decades ago.

Towards the end of our trip to Ecuador, we went to @republicadelcacao’s chocolate factory! We have loved seeing the care and attention that each step and ingredient receives at the hands of Republica and we are reminded of how it important it is to always use the best ingredients available. A couple of days ago the lovely Erika @csierika stopped by looking for a Venezuelan-inspired Miami gift for a trip abroad... She left with several boxes of chocolates, including Anís y Papelón and Parchita, for that special home-away-from-home feel
Anís y Papelón is one of our favorite bonbons. Susa was inspired by the golfeados we grew up with in Caracas. Golfeados are kinda like cinnamon rolls, but with sweet anise and piloncillo syrup. It’s one of those bites that gives us joy and it won Gold at @chocawards in 2015. Of course, it’ll be on the permanent menu @garcia.nevett! Have you tried it yet?
