Looking at all the fun memories we have already made this summer. I can’t believe how fast time flew by this year. Can’t wait to experience all that the East Coast has to offer! Summer is officially halfway over. Time to press reset and see what all we can out East. #eastvswest#homeiswheretheheartis#homeawayfromhome#whereishome
We had so much fun at White Sands that we decided to give Coral Pink Sand Dunes a try!
The dunes offer gorgeous mountain views and are a playground for hikers, ATVs, and, most importantly, pets! We mostly had the place to ourselves, though.
Chuck loved racing up and down the dunes with us and is now cuddled/passed out in our laps. Poor dog wore himself out!

"At first it's bliss. It's drunken, heady, intoxicating. It swallows the people we were ~~ not particuarly wonderful people, but people who did our best, more or less ~~ and spits out the monsters we are becoming. Our friends despise us. We are an epic. Everything is grand, crashing, brilliant, blinding. It's the Golden Age of Hollywood, and we are a legend in our own minds, and no one outside can fail to see that we are headed for hell, and we won't listen, we say they don't understand, we pour more wine, go to the parties, we sparkle, fly all over the country, we're on an adventure, unstoppable, we've found each other and we race through our days like Mr. Toad in his yellow motorcar, with no idea where the brakes are and to hell with it anyway, we are on fire, drunk with something we call love." ~~Marya Hornbacher
As I sit here taking in all that’s around I think about what we are doing, it all seems so surreal. If for a second if anyone thinks church planting is about saving souls we miss God’s greater plan. As people encounter Jesus, their lives are changed. Those lives change others lives, before we know it a community is transformed. Even though the impact is not immediate with care, love and intention; the light will be brought into the darkest corners of any city.
Hiking - We’ve been doing a lot of it lately. I didn’t used to hike or run when I was younger. In fact I was one of those kids who stayed inside and watched tv all the time. I did play outside, but my family wasn’t really into being outdoorsy. I mean, we did go camping once when I was a kid 😂.
So why do I keep posting pictures of my hikes? Well, it’s because I don’t want to be someone that lives a sedentary lifestyle. I post them to help get others motivated to go outdoors and enjoy what God has given us! This earth is beautiful and there is so much to see and do, so why not get out and enjoy it? 😁
I'm not one to be the center of attention. I’ve never been. If it happens it happens I'm not going to gloat over it. There is way cooler scenery out there than me in my pictures. That's just me. I would want the audience to see what is outside of your comfort zone and tackle it.
For me my comfort zone is hard to come by since I'm busy busy busy! With all these adventures comes risk which can be hard to come by. With my background if I feel comfortable and manage my risk I will climb that rock or peak. Then again this is my backyard and with the knowledge I know I try not to think about it much and tackle it head on. Same with everyone else.
Enjoy what you love and keep growing by taking risk and tackling it :) I appreciate my old man taking a photo of me once in awhile to
There is no indulgence quite like an after-work hike. A day of hunching over a computer, updating spreadsheets and sending emails evaporates into the white mountain sky. It feels easier to collapse onto the couch and watch Netflix, but it’s always better if you just go.
Summertime blues are real, I thought about packing up & leaving multiple times in the last month but with a little perspective change and lots of adventure you can overcome anything, currently happy to be in the desert! ✌🏼💛
I love this picture ❤ 🍃
Can you see him? That little yellow speck in the distance 😀
Spending time in the wilderness, in the bush, is part of what makes me whole. It is not just about the fresh air or exercise, but about how it makes me feel, and gives me a sense of place. 🍃
That feeling of wide open spaces, freedom for my children to run and play. The smells, the colours. I love it. Wherever I am, it makes me feel lile home 💗
