‘Many a calm river begins as a turbulent waterfall, yet none hurtles and foams all the way to the sea’ Mikhail Lermontov.
I was once asked to sketch how my river looked... I was hurtling down rapid river dodging rocks and feeling like it was all to short and I was moving too quick. Now my river is calm and still, choosing to pause for a time and appreciate where I am right now.
What is your river like right now?

Recently I've been trying to achieve defined edges without black outlines. I've noticed that the paper makes a huge difference to this. These were done on Strathmore toned tan paper which is lovely for ink but not so much for watercolour.. .
I might save this paper in future for my quick black brush & ink drawings.
A relaxing and somewhat new lifedrawing experience was had @vlinderexpressivearts with the lovely @waki65 hosting. Our model was Brett who is part of @sketchmarksgc and he was awesome!!! It was "new" as usually the model is nude in all poses but Brett did a couple of costume changes, then posed nude! 🤘...cool...
Drawings are from 5mins to 20mins, plus the group of 5 mixed as well...I really hope others discover this place in 2019🎨✏✍🏼🖤🖌
