Something I value is keeping my work, my art, your photos as true to life as possible. I value true blue + true green. I love the way real-life color looks in photograph. It’s timeless. It isn’t trendy. It’s what your grandparents want to see + most likely what your grandkids will want to see someday. It’s not for everyone + it takes all kinds of styles to make the photography world go round but I plan to stay rooted in my values- no matter the trend. I value keeping my work, your photos- as real life as possible. Timelessness is what I strive for day in + day out.
All odds were against us for this session when a monsoon hit right before we started but we worked with what we had + Taighan rocked it. How awesome is this one of a kind bag + those gorgeous little earrings she’s wearing? Check out @jmlleather0618 to get yours 😍
So now climbing a freaking pole is a challenge?! I know why! I've been wearing flexible shorts all summer and now I'm back in tight rock'n roll skinny jeans again! That's why! ... and the only why... 📸 by @muderspack

This shot was from the final series of the entire session. It is my fav group shot. Like I’ve said before I don’t do the whole western fashion scene but I can appreciate some really fun outfits + really fun girls that came together to show off some great small businesses. I guess I keep saying ‘I don’t do the western fashion scene’ because I don’t want y’all to think I’m being a poser. The folks that know me best + even those that don’t- probably know jeans + T-shirt’s are my life. I wouldn’t probably ever wear these outfits. But at the end of the day this session was about me having fun + being creative as an artist, working with some sweet, sweet ladies + showcasing some makers that deserve more credit than they receive so if ya do nothing else today- give these artists a follow- @diamondswildrags, @denim_cowgirl, @rosebudstees + @lancedixonbucklesandspurs.
I just need to get something HUGE off my chest- humor me + read all this would ya, please? •
Elopements are trendy right now. Beaches, mountains, national parks but here’s the deal- what’s wrong with getting married in your backyard? Or a local church, even a park? You can still elope at home. It doesn’t have to be about adventures and exploring crazy places. It doesn’t have to be expensive. I love traveling as much as the next photog but I’m just sayin. •
Why don’t we make it more about the marriage than the wedding? I never cared much for or about wedding photography (yep I said it) until I got married + you know what? We eloped in our backyard. My dress cost $75 from Dillards. I get that isn’t for everyone. I really do. But after doing that- I don’t understand why more folks don’t take advantage of the simplicity. Elopements don’t have to be fancy- weddings don’t have to be fancy. •
Also you don’t HAVE to have a traditional wedding. Just because Aunt Sally says ‘you can’t elope because we all want to see you be a bride’ WHO CARES. You do you Boo + if that’s eloping and no one seeing you as a bride- that’s ok. It’s supposed to be about you + your spouse. Don’t fall into that pressure if you know you want something small or intimate. •
I’m not ragging on traditional wedding because they will always be a thing + always be beautiful + great in their own right but my gosh. There is such an ‘adventurous elopement’ trend in the industry right now. It doesn’t have to be above + beyond, y’all. •
There’s such a stigma about having a small, intimate wedding. Ya don’t have to invite every person you’ve ever met. Have 20 people if you want or have none or have 300 but make sure it’s what YOU as a couple want. •
No wedding is the same but I keep REPEATEDLY seeing couples fall into trends or pressure or suggestions for their wedding + it not being what the couple wants at all. I’m just saying is all. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m no wedding expert but that’s what I’ve learned in my experience.
