Today we headed to our favorite library downtown and found the cutest reading spot in the children's area. If you haven't been to the Austin Library you definitely need to check it out. The have a rooftop garden reading area, fun oversized chess game, a fun teen section where they have tons of games you can sit down and play. (Must be 13-18 to sit and hangout in there) They have a cookbook cafe, and a cute little shop where if you saw my story we picked up my daughter a When In Doubt, Go To The Library: Hermione Granger shirt. 📚
I will say parking is tricky. If you can find a spot in their under ground parking that's best but not always easy since they don't have a ton of spots. It does cost $7 for 2-7 hours. Trader Joe's is in walking distance and you can park there and they validate for the first hour but it's $3 for every 30 minutes after that. Another tip is the capmetro is free for kids to ride this summer. So you definitely could take that for a little adventure and not have to worry about parking. My kids want to try that the next time we go. Who wants to come with us?! 🚉
What are you reading now, lately, hopefully soon? I am currently reading Kassia St. Clair’s The Secret Lives of Colors and I recently read Birds of America by Lorrie Moore.
This lovely library was in the sweet Salt Kettle Inn. I would recommend this nook to anyone looking for a spot in Bermuda. Tucked away from Hamilton but on the ferry line, the Salt Kettle is no-fuss and low-key, exactly what I wanted for the few nights we were in town. John, the inn keeper, was so kind and welcoming to us. Not sponsored in anyway shape or form, just had a really lovely time and wanted to share.
Here’s a copy of Zenith by @sashaalsberg and @authorlindsaycummings that I found at my local library! My feed has been hosting so many dystopian books lately that I thought I should spice it up with a brilliant science fiction read. I really love this book so much. Beautiful on the inside and out. Reminder that the paper back edition of Zenith is coming out very soon!! So excited. •

I’m looking for people to participate in a huge book exchange. You can be anywhere in the world. All you have to do is buy your favorite book (just one) and send it to a stranger (I'll send their details through in a private message). You’ll receive a roughly maximum of 36 books back to you, to keep. They'll be favorite books from strangers around the world!
If you are interested in taking part, please comment ‘IN’ below and I'll send you all the details! #bookstagram#passiton
I was inspired by a post from @petite.reader to show you all the Arion Press edition of ‘Moby Dick’. It is a stunning hardcover edition of the novel with illustrations by Barry Moser. It is another novel I find myself returning to again and again - though I have read it through entirely only twice. Chapter 132, ‘The Symphony’ is one of my favourite pieces of writing: a moment for redemption lost. Go and read the chapter now and tell me what you think. #bookstagram#bookshelf#library#greatnovel#hermanmelville#mobydick#fiction#arionpress#classicliterature#bibliophile
