I’ll be heading home to California for the next 10 days and be doing a lot of traveling. Instead of taking a bunch of tubs with you to travel just throw em in lil baggies! In a period of 10 days, I’ll be working out for 4 days so I brought 5 post workout shakes incase I need an extra one in or scheduling changes. Got 10 days worth of greens and multivitamins because that’s something I take everyday. I’m bringing my entire Royal King 21 system since there’s only about 10 days left worth of pills. And still debating if i wanna bring my whole level-1 or put em in baggies. One serving I need is in an entire bag so I don’t even need to use scoops! Super efficient and easy way to stay on top of my nutritional needs! Also TSA Safe, but to be extra safe I just check everything in anyways.
Travel shouldn’t be an excuse to miss meals or mill essential nutrients your body needs on a daily!

1/2 cup Kodiak Cakes (Dark Chocolate)
1 scoop Level-1
Add water to desired consistency and that’s it!
I personally prefer waffles but they can be used to make pancakes also!

Tonight was my last class of teaching Krav. It’s hard to say goodbye, but it’s been an honor to be part of this for the last 4.5 years; the ability to train with and teach some of the most amazing people I’ll ever meet. I’ve learned the most valuable skills that I’ve used real-world more than once. From being able to see my middle school/high school students grow in confidence, strength, and maturity to seeing the people that I’ve taught the first class to get to Levels 2 and 3... it’s been an honor and a huge part of my life since I was 15. I don’t know where I’d be without it. Growing pains, leading to something bigger and better.
Night time snack? Yes please! Strawberry Ice Cream with fresh strawberries 🍓 and blueberries? Uh...yeah 😋. -
One of my favorite things about adhering to an IIFYM approach to nutrition is flexibility. In this case I wanted a bowl of ice cream before bed.
Yes, I had a meal planned for bedtime when I woke up but by the end of the day I simply wasn’t “feeling” what I had planned to eat. We’ve all been there right? -
With an IIFYM style approach to nutrition I was easily able to switch my planned foods for alternate foods that fell within the macronutrient profile for the meal I had planned. In this case I actually fell a little short of each of my macronutrients by making the switch to strawberry ice cream. -
While falling short of your planned macros for the day sounds awesome...it’s not. Intuitively, falling short could result in weight loss right? Maybe, if you believe it’s a calories-in and calories-out scenario. Here’s something else to consider though... -
You really should strive to hit your numbers daily especially if you’re like me and understand what it takes to properly fuel your body. Falling short of my macros also means that I might have a drop in performance due to shorting myself on food. -
At the end of the day, I’m not getting ready for the stage and being spot on isn’t as important as it has been in the past. What is more important is my mental well-being. Instead of sticking to a regimented, boring, cookie-cutter meal plan, I’m able to eat the thing I love without the guilt. -
