🔹don't give up - brighter days are ahead🔹
the past few days i've been feeling a little off and spent most of my time in bed. maybe it's the cloudy weather, my skin that doesn't seem to be making much progress, or my first fatherless father's day.. i guess it just all comes together and makes me feel pretty meh.
so thought about this quote @alexanaloog sent me and made this watercolor 🌈 .
may we always remember that tomorrow is a new day. and if it's not tomorrow, it will be the day after that, or the week, or the month. just ride out the storm and visualize the sunshine ahead 💛 i'm gonna try and follow this quote's advice. and if you're also feeling down, i hope you will too 🌸
"so what DO you eat?" well, an abundance of mother nature's goodness, that's what i eat 😊💚
i know some of you love to know what i eat, so hope this semi-raw plate will give a nice indication of a lunch/dinner. just have a bunch of your favorite veggies and a big hummus dip. and roasted sweet potatoes are a great addition, especially if you want to feel full more quickly 🍀
there's a reason nature gives us plants in abundance: so we can thrive on them 🙂 we don't need the products of raped, exploited and killed animals to be healthy, in fact it even works the exact opposite.. 🙅♀️ .
all we need are beautiful, delicious plants which genuinely feed and heal us, physically and mentally 🙏 the biggest difference people i have heard people mention when they go vegetarian or vegan, is having more energy and an overall 'lighter' feeling. plus losing excess weight, just like i did 🙌 .
and as you can see, there's also no need to feel restricted or hungry when you go plant based (especially raw plant based): because it's all clean food, you can eat as much as you want and will definitely feel satisfied! 🤗 well, those are today's reasons to eat more veggies haha, i hope it will inspire someone out there 🎈
did you know that sitting like this has many benefits? 💫 in yoga, this squatting pose is called ‘malasana’, which: .
🔹 tones your lower body; it works the quadricep, hamstring, gluteal and calf muscles
🔹 strengthens your lower back and core
🔹 has digestion and energy benefits; the pose has a descending nature, which encourages downward 'flowing' of energy and waste, if you know what i mean 😛
🔹 increases flexibility in your hips, ankles and knees
especially when in nature, this pose makes me feel grounded and connected. maybe it’s partly because of my roots, because people in indonesia sit like this all the time: chilling, waiting for the bus or even cooking 😄
because i have been binging on mangos lately, i kind of forgot how much i love red fruits ❤
did you know red colored fruits and vegetables all have certain benefits in common? they contain: 🍓 antioxidants. 🍓 powerful anti-inflammatory properties for blood vessels, joints and for the entire body. 🍓 anti-cancer properties- mostly found in tomatoes, and particularly when cooked. 🍓 potassium, which is key to balanced blood pressure and hydration. 🍓 vitamins A & C, which are important for skin health (!), hair + nails, and your immune system.
what's your favorite red fruit? 🤗
a few weeks ago i started practicing yoga. it had been wandering in my mind for a while and so far i have attended 3 lessons 😊 and i'm already loving it 💚
what have i learned so far? i noticed i really underestimated the intensity of yoga, especially the fitness you need to be able to keep up with the more challenging poses/classes. i feel like it's a great way to get in shape, make your body more flexible, release emotions and to truly relax. plus i have already met some wonderful, like minded people, which is also fun 🤗 .
anyway, i'm so glad i finally started! i can't wait to learn/improve and experience more of the yoga benefits.
do any of you guys do yoga? and what do you love most about it? 🍀
yesterday i was at the @vegan_festival_rotterdam and there were soo many delicious food options 👏💚 plus there were quite some visitors, i'm sure a lot of awareness has been raised 👌 this picture doesn't really show the burger, but it was guuuud 🍀
one of the many reasons i hear from people why they think they can't go vegan, is that it's hard to get any food when you're not at home. though this can be a struggle at times, there's alwaysss the option to mealprep and take your fave healthy food with you 💚 .
i know you probably don't always feel like prepping and you don't always know how long you're going to be gone for, but big salads or just some hummus and veggies are the total way to go 🍀 .
and trust me, you'll feel so much better having your clean food with you, than having to buy some kind of fast food and feeling unhealthy/bloated/guilty afterwards..
i hope some of you will give this a try and experience the benefits of meal prepping, because look at this shiny ass salad i had on the train 😍
one of the things i'm soo looking forward to when i'm completely healed: enjoying the sea 🌊 .
all my life i've loved the waves, but have never been able to swim carelessly without having the salt water sting the f out of my little wounds.
i know many people say that sea water is very healing for eczema, but 1: it only lasts that day and 2: it's just not worth the pain 😄 (at least not to me haha) .
so yeah, i'm visualizing this goal and hoping for it to become reality soon 🙌 .
do any of you eczema fighters have any goals/hopes for the future? 💚
despite the sunny weather, i have been craving cooked food 🍜 for the first time in ages i cooked some curry and it was de li ci ous. i overate, obviously 😄 so imma give my body a break and have some more raw /easier to digest foods today 🤗

mental health time 🍀
for the longest time in my healing journey, my skin completely wrecked my self confidence. for months and months i felt red, burning, itchy, flaky, disgusting and ugly. the detox symptoms were reallll. .
however, that dark time turned something simple like taking fitting room selfies into a huge milestone. i'm not a selfie kinda girl at allll, but for the first time i was sort of feeling myself here and i thought i was worth celebrating 🎈

and probably much moree 🍉 what other benefit of mama nature's gifts can you think of?
not perfect, but you get the message 😊🎨 .
i have learned that going through hardships can feel like both a curse and a blessing. because life can be toughhh. but i truly believe that as long as you keep faith in what you can become through those times, you will always transform into a wiser, more balanced and mature person. the tears, frustration, anger, discomfort and pain are all part of making us grow 🌱
i know it definitely doesn't always feel like you're blossoming into this 'better version of yourself'. but trust me, as long as you're open to learn, the universe is working its magic 💫
to anyone that relates to this, i hope this lil image will encourage you and remind you of how strong you are. virtual hugs to all of y'allll ❤❤❤
and as always, drop your fave quotes/mottos/life lessons in the comments or my dm, so i can make more 🖌
i'm going to be honest and tell you that i'm prettty scared to share this post. i put the actual picture behind this first one on purpose, because i realized i'm very sensitive to seeing bad skin pictures and don't want to shove anything into anyone's face. buuut i'm sharing it anyway to be open/honest and show my fellow warriors where i'm at 🌸
so far i've only shared before & after pictures that show my healed legs/stomach/arms, but when it comes to my face, this has been my daily morning struggle for the past 5 or 6 months. waking up flaky and tight af, but -thank god- being able to scrub off most of it and look somewhat okay.. the rest of my body isn't flaky or red anymore, and i'm super super thankful for coming that far 🙏 so anyway, my face is SUCH a stubborn area (probably bc of the shitload of 'safe' Protopic cream i have used) and i'm moore than ready for that part to be healed as well 🍀
tbh i'm struggling quite a lot with my self image because of my flaky/discolored face. however people keep telling me throughout the day that it's not that bad at all and that my mind is probably super focused on imperfections, thus the distorted view of my skin, at times. .
do any of you feel that because the huge changes of your reflection in the mirror, your self image is soo much different/worse than how others actually see you? i'm very curious to hear about your thoughts & i'm sending healing vibes to everyone 💚 keep reminding yourself that healing is possible and we'll all get there someday! 💕
last week i moved into my new house and got reunited with my former roomie @yungthil ☺ i'm so lucky to enjoy her amazing foods again, coz she cooks like a queennn 👏 i really have to learn how to work magic with herbs like she does 💫 bc doesn't this look super tasty?
