HOME 🍁 I’ve arrived back from France , Molly stayed up late so I could give her a great big bear hug & put her to bed, I also snuck in to give Jack a huge kiss & tuck him in. .
Four days away from my babies is too long... my boobs have literally been yearning for my baby #Milkingmother .
BTW How cute is PIP 🍂
“I’ve been part of the Special Love community for 25 years. I serve on the Board of Directors and volunteer as a camp counselor. I am very fortunate that my family and the amazing company I work for, Damuth Trane, support my love for this great organization. They understand that childhood cancer affects everyone in the family, not just the patient. Childhood cancer awareness month is so important because it reminds us that there is hope.”
Asking a question with the right choice of words and tone will mostly lead to positive engagement! As parents its hard not to want to interfere with kids line of questioning especially when the packaging (bluntness) of the questions makes us uncomfortable. As we know kids don't edit and they shouldn't #kidsdonotedit . I vividly recall in a Zara store Gani @4years asking a "person of restricted height "why he was so small...i immediately had a flash of paralyzing diarrhoea! I mean i temporarily exited my soul (not body) when he proceeded to say "but your not a child and you look like an adult"! But had to pull myself towards myself and stand down as the gentleman in question proceeded to explain to Gani why he looked the way he did. How grateful i was...#parentinglife is tough!
“The Camp Magic is tough to describe. A group of volunteers and staff come together to give 110% of their energy, passion, and love to these children who are fighting a terrible disease.
Being diagnosed at 20 years old, I was too old for the children’s support groups and too young for the adult groups. I really had no one to talk to and no support groups until I was introduced to the Special Love YAC program. That’s what these camps are about. We’re making memories that will last them forever."
We're coming up to the end of a school year. My lo is in kindy and so the conversations amongst friends go, "bet you're excited for lo to start school", "I hope our kids are in same class" etc.
And so when i explain she's not going to school the question that I'm sure every #unschooler gets, " why are you homeschooling?"
I feel abit of angst from hearing this question. Even though I've read and watched every bit of info out there, I still fumble with answering this question.
Freedom. That's what I've come up with for now.

This gorgeous pixie bonnet is a @rowrowandkades design. I was very happy to test-knit this cute little number for her. Have a look at @rowrowandkades ‘s feed if you’d like to have a go at knitting it too ✨⭐️✨
“My name is Jay and I’m a former YACer (Young Adults with Cancer.) When I was 20 years old, in late November of 1992, I was experiencing headaches and double vision. For two weeks, I was diagnosed with middle ear infection with no improvement. They ordered a MRI on Dec. 14 and found a tumor in the pineal region of my brain. They rushed me in for immediate surgery to release the pressure that was being created by the tumor.
Once they performed the biopsy, they discovered that it was cancer. I was diagnosed with Pineal Germinoma in late December - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It was a rare tumor and they had no experience with this type of cancer. My mom got in touch with the American Cancer Society and through them found a doctor at Memorial Sloan Kettering doing a trial study on this type of cancer. We got on a plane and met with the doctor. She told me that we are going to beat this cancer, and we did. After 6 months of some radical chemotherapy, I was cancer free.”
What a funny age 9 is. Most of the time it’s all about putting on lip gloss, taking selfies on her phone and talking to her friends on WhatsApp. Then sometimes she quietly spends all Sunday morning playing with dolls and ponies #tweengirls#sundaymornings#ourgenerationdoll#letkidsbekids @ogdolls
weekend vibes at the raimanns.
laundry moved indoors due to the weather.
R and i spent the while morning creating and playing with his @ostheimerwoodentoys and @grimmswoodentoys and other wooden toys.
i wanted to knit so i asked R if he wanted music, he said Lion - he watched the lion king once. he say beside me, listened to a few tracks while i am knitting, then headed to his @lego and began creating alone.
i love it when he gets into the zone building and creating alone. ❤️ kids need their own quiet and alone time to be creative too.
"So which one of you is the pilot?"
I've always been amazed at how easy it is kids to ask questions confidently based on the simple principle ...if you don't know ..ask! As adults this becomes a challenge as we complicate this simple principle for a number of reasons.
