“La cosa più bella che possa capitare a un essere umano, è di scoprire il fuoco sacro, il fuoco della sua anima e di fare in modo che la vita intera sia l’espressione di questa anima" (Annie Marquier).
Agun Khela is a performance of about 20 minutes in which the two artists deliver images, sensations and different ways of living their femininity through the element of fire and their relationship with it.
The techniques used to dance with fire are inspired by various disciplines learned over the years by the two performers: Yoga, Gotipua Indian Dance, Kalaripayattu Martial Art, Juggling, Fakir skills.
Thanks to various instruments (stick, ropes, cups, firefly, wings, fans, bolas, hand candles) the two dancers use the expressive potential of fire as a bridge to get in touch with space, music and the audience.
The choreography highlights different ways of dealing with fire. The performers, in fact, start from two contrasting approaches: one is centered on happiness and energy, and the other one on elegance and rituality. They will meet at some point during the performance and join in a common dance that reveals their complementarity
