It’s been a hot minute since I posted a blank #happyplanner weekly so here is this week’s spread before I scribbled all over it. Truth: Not every week is decorated because, well, #teacherstruggles . 🤷♀️ I try to find a moment to stick on some washi tape and stickers but it doesn’t happen weekly. Do you decorate your teacher planner or nah?
Hey future and current teachers! Welcome to our page! 🍎
We were in class one day discussing how cool it would be to have a page where people could send in their creative lesson ideas, have them posted, and then that gives other teachers ideas for their lessons (hence the SOL in the bio 😉).
So, here we are! Send us pictures of your lessons, project ideas, finished projects, and we will post them! Much love and you’re awesome! #futureteacher#lessonplans#education
Our Homeschooling Fun Series Part 2 of 2 is posted on my website at christinethejoyfulmom.com

Ok, so you guys...I need some advice. I have just accepted a position at my old school doing half-day, long-term subbing for first grade Spanish immersion. 😬 The teacher is going to be out for the next month, and she’s already been gone the last two weeks, so the kiddos have had a revolving door of subs (including me once). I’m coming on to do the Spanish part of the day, and all I know so far is that i think they’re learning about plants and animals. So here’s my question/plea: has anyone else jumped into a situation like this? What’s the best way to make the kids feel comfortable during this potentially stressful transition? Any suggestions for strategies? I’ve also never taught first before, so I’d also take suggestions on fun plant/animal ideas in Spanish. Thank you in advance you beautiful community of bilingual teachers! 🙏😘
Sub plans are going downnnnnnn. My daily superfoods are going downnnnn. And my stress levels are going uppppp.
Any other teacher hate leaving their kids for 2 days?!—-I mean..don’t get me wrong. I’m super excited! But...I’m notorious for OVER DOING it with the sub plans. Planned to the exact minute🤷🏼♀️
And...I always worry that all the hard work we’ve put in the last 32 days will be destroyed 💣 💥...because..let’s be honest...kids normally bring their A game for when a sub arrives😝
But....I’m sure they’ll be angels👼🏼 and follow every rule/routine/procedure we’ve talked about! ;)
I’ve always been a girls girl. You know...the one who looked forward to sleepovers EVERY weekend with high school best friends (not kidding). The one who made college best friends within the first month, and basically lived with them and breathed each other’s air 24/7. The one who still texts and calls friends from all walks of life, because I NEED lady friends. I’m also the one who’s been blessed beyond what I deserve with the best sister on earth and the best mom. I just CRAVE relationships, and I’ve always been surrounded by the best girl gangs.
That’s why leaving college was SO hard. I cried the biggest alligator tears when my college best friends said goodbye. We stood in our apartment, embraced each other, and bawled. A big part of it was I KNEW an era was over. Like I would NEVER live life right next to SO many women ever again.
And then coaching...my oh my has the Lord blessed me with this girl gang. We met on the internet (LIKE WUT), we talk daily, we encourage each other, pray for each other, and pour into one another like it’s a job (LOL 😏). But really...I do get PAID to make friends. I get PAID to have a girl gang. And I get PAID to encourage and be encouraged.
There is ALWAYS room at our table, and I’d love for you to come hang out with us tonight and see what Team Fit For More is alllll about. We’d love to adopt you! 😂😏Message me or drop a 💕 below if you’d like to hangout TONIGHT at 8:30 CST!

Ready ... Set ... Science!
Our 1st grade class was off to the races with their individually designed and hand-constructed race cars.
Each student arranged the wheels, axles, and chassis of their car.
The students then experimented with adding balloons to the tops of their cars! Hands-on learning and friendly competition merged together in this science lesson last week.
American #Flag Project
We did this #project back in 4th of July for our #America themed week at my old school. It is always difficult for me to teach about my own country as I never really know what to say as there are usually politically charged matters with the #USA everywhere. So I avoid being too #patriotic and try not to be hard on or down either. Keep it to some simple days like our #independenceday , thanksgiving and some basic traditions.
I do teach that anyone who moves there can become "American" no matter who you were before, you can become #American . As there are many places where national identity is permanently intertwined with its ethnicity. So I like to teach this to people in a blanket #preschooltheme of everyone is #unique but #equal .
For this project I drew the lines first and then assigned groups for each color. The students took to it quick and after the stripes were done we did #handprints to replace the #stars (Each star is a state, and each state is its people, so each hand print is one person in the class). #Preschool#immigration#expat#culturalappropriation#kidspainting#esl#togetherness#lessonplans#kindergarten#kidart
Circle time or Group time
Circle time is an integral part of Bloomingdales Pre-Primary. The circle is a symbol of community, a place for thinking, learning, sharing and enhancing self-esteem.
Most concepts, reading, speaking, listening and sharing activities happen during circle time.
The circle may be big or small, depending on the age of the children in a class. :) #BloomingdalesPrePrimary
This #Navaratri the children decided to teach the teachers a twirly trick or two!
The ground was decked with flowers and the students got together to perform some lovely traditional dances. These lovely performances were followed by a fun #Garba session with all their teachers!
“I can name these bones on my skeleton!” Besides knowing the names of the bones, they will learn how to keep bones and muscles healthy.

Instabooks #19 : Poetry Collections. These are the covers of some of my students’ poetry books!!! After reading many “model poems”, they wrote several of their own. Excited to feature many poems with the poetry lesson plans in my blog next week. #middleschool#poetry#poetrywriting @smslearns #lessonplans
