Pain magique !
Breakfast today is going to have lentils don’t know exactly what’s going to happen with the lentils but lentils are going to be in my food today. For those of you who have never eat lentils I figured I’d show you exactly how easy it is to cook them. I always buy organic and sprouted! I had this dal / lentil soup earlier but it never tasted so well until we visited Turkey last month. I had it 3-4 times in the 8 days of visit but the one I had on the first evening at Cappadocia in a humble, frill free restaurant tasted the best... it was like celebrating my tongue... real spicy & oh! so yum..... Trust me, mine is near to that in taste and so desi! If you are doing it for smaller kids or "adult kids".... lessen the amount of dry roasted spice powder used! The Turk restaurants serve it with Turkish Breads and their signature Rice Pilaff! You can see what I served it with.... you actually can have it with any variety of rice and bread! The amount of ingredients mentioned serve few bowls. For the rest.... that is the full, easy, health packed recipe and the reason for my not so feeling high in spirit at the moment... you have to read the original post!
My latest discovery is green lentil penne, served in a very low fat creamy cheesy sauce with mushrooms, spinach, red pepper and chilli! Lots of cracked black pepper too. Delicious 😋 The lentil pasta honestly doesn’t taste any different than normal pasta so if you ever come across it in a store or fancy a change or can’t eat gluten, definitely give it a go. The complete dish has 340 calories, loads of protein and 7 gr fat 😁
Tonight I made one of my favorites — #lentil#soup ! Made with brown lentils, diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, onion, 🥕 carrots , cauliflower florets and wilted 🌈 rainbow chard. Super tasty! The secret ingredient to this is spicy curry powder ;) ..gives it a mild heat and satisfying flavor. 🙏🏻😋🍲 I cant wait for cold weather so I can make this more often! 🙌🏻 #yummy
I’ve spoken to so many people about plant based diets vs consuming meat. It’s an interesting topic and one which divides a lot of people. As a chef and lover of food, I personally, would struggle to follow a vegan diet for the rest of my life, that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy plant based meals, I actually love a lot of vegan dishes, but at the same time I also love meat based dishes too. Something that I’ve started doing a lot more over the years is reducing the amount of meat I do consume and substituting it with more vegan or vegetarian ingredients.
This is my lamb and lentil curry, it was more lentil than lamb but the flavor of the lamb was prominent through the whole dish as I had stewed the lamb and lentil together. the combination made for a delicious, hearty and wholesome meal accompanied with some hot roti Breads.
It goes to show that meat based curries don’t always have to be mainly meat to taste great!! #lamb#lentil#curry#indan#healthy#hearty#wholesome#food#foodie#heresmyfood#chef#cheflife#foodstagram#instafood#delicious#tasty
