Summer sorted 🌞
Cold pesto pasta salad, sodawater with a drop of lemon, and some beautiful #beeswaxwraps for the leftovers... because let’s be honest, my eyes are MUCH bigger than my stomach. If you struggling with this heat as much as this pregnant woman over here, the dottera lemon oil is an amazing refresher. Now I’m no essential oil fanatic, but I do notice myself drinking a whole heap more water with the smallest bit of this in it. Stay hydrated peeps!
DM me to get your hands on a set of these Summer Fern wraps $22 (inc. post!!!)

Seeing citrus at farmers markets make me happy!
Raised in the Midwest of the states, I only see fresh, locally-grown citrus when I travel. And nothing beats traveling!
Lemons have played a large role in my weight-loss journey as they’re along the lowest in calories (of the citrus family) & contain no saturated fats or cholesterol. They are also an excellent source of dietary fiber & a low-glycemic fruits.
I squeeze lemon juice on roasted vegetables just before serving & add lemon zest & juice to my favorite-coconut-blueberry-&-lemon-baked oatmeal. Yum!
Lemon’s signature-puckering-acidic-flavor comes from Citric acid, which is a natural preservative, aids in digestion and can even helps dissolve kidney stones.
Lemons, like other citrus, are an excellent source of vitamin-C. They are also anti-inflammatory, help build up our-immune-system defenses & carry a healthy amount of minerals like iron, copper, potassium & calcium.
If you can get local citrus every day, please, please enjoy for the rest of us & until next time, I’ll see you at the farmers market.
When life gives you lemons... What do you do with them?
I definitely make lemon water 😋Celery juice is not the first thing I drink when I wake up, lemon water is!
When we’re sleeping, our liver is working extra hard to process and cleanse itself from all of the toxins we’ve recently put into our bodies. When we wake up, we need to help our bodies eliminate those toxins, by drinking plenty of lemon and regular filtered water.
If you are struggling with skin issues, reoccurring migraines, brain fog and sleepiness, it might be a sign that your liver is calling on you for some extra assistance.
Even though lemons have an acidic taste they are actually highly alkalizing for the body.
Drinking lemon water can help:
+ alkalize blood, cells, lymph, organs, and tissue
+ destroy unproductive bacteria in the body
+ gently cleanse the liver of toxins and pathogens
+ relieve indigestion
+ improve skin impurities
+ relieve tooth aches
+ boost immune system
+ fight inflammation in the body
For those of you drinking celery juice as well, wait 15 minutes after drinking lemon water. 💛💛💛💛💛
Ladies & Gents, all humor aside... please don’t forget to hydrate yourselves this season! The number one thing I see within my clients around this time is dry-dehydrated skin. I know that the weather being colder, it’s harder to drink “cold” water... especially with the rush of the holidays coming up & when there is yummy hot coffee to help keep you going!!! But making small everyday changes will help make all the difference! For example, in the mornings, having a cup of warm / hot water with some lemon will help jumpstart your metabolism and get you ready for the day - energy wise ( and will also help with your hydration levels )! Also setting time goals on getting that water in throughout the day will be an extra added help! So if you’re seeing your skin look a little dull, lifeless, or even just super dry - try adding more water into your day && also INVESTING in a good water-based moisturizer will help to replenish your skin💧
My all time favorite moisturizer for myself and my clients skin is by @imageskincare - the Vital C Hydrating Water Burst! This is a reminder of how we are fundamentally different every winter. The best tea for winter, in my humble opinion, is ginger root tea with honey and lemon. You just need a couple of ginger slices (only use the dry ginger roots), half lemon juice and a dash of honey (preferably chestnut or pine tree ones for the woody flavor). And just like that, it keeps the cold away. So what’s the dispute you ask? Well, he forever calls it “ginger water” and I’m low-key hating him for it.
The lemon juice is ready for the fridge. I'm usually sipping on lemon water or green tea with lemon juice all day, daily. Lemon juice promotes hydration, it's a good source of vitaminC, it supports weight loss, It improves your skin quality, it aids digestion, it freshens breath and it helps prevent kidney stones. So why not have some daily? #lemonjuice#lemonwater#greenteawithlemon#worksforme#Werksinprogress

Plant-based Breakfast! ☀️
Lemon Water 🍋:
- High in Vitamin C and alkaline forming (more on this in another post), lemon water is a great way to kick start your day. •
- Packed with healthy fats and a good protein source almonds help to lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Natural sourdough bread is easier to digest than other types of bread.
- A natural muesli or cereal topped off with nuts and seeds is a great way to get a lot of essential nutrients early on in the day. Flaxseed and chia seeds provide Omega-3 fatty acids while pumpkin seeds are loaded with iron. Top it off with banana and other fruit like berries to increase nutritional benefit 🍌🥣 •
- Not essential but if you love your coffee just try to have it black with no sugar and limit yourself to 1-2 cups a day. Replace this with a fruit smoothie to really reap the benefits from your breakfast. * As you pay more attention to your diet you will notice the need for coffee and other stimulants go way! 👌🏼
