Two things I do immediately after training is mix my post work out protein shake and wash my face.
.
Both are very important if I am trying to grow lean muscles as well as keep my complexion looking younger than my age 👶 Haha. Most know the importance of consuming protein just after working out but I will explain that in a future post for those who don't. What I want to stress is how important it is to not forget or neglect your gorgeous skin. .
IT'S REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT! .
We all sweat and if you dont sweat, you are not working hard enough or your severally dehydrated (again a topic for another day that a lot of people miss the importance of) ! You know what sweat is doing other than making you sticky and stanky??? That sweat is also leaching the toxins from your body thus detoxifying your organs, which is absolutely fantastic! Our body naturally try to remove inorganic compounds from our body through sweat, urination and well.....#2's! As long as you are drinking plenty of water and washing your face at certain important times of the day(upon awaking, after training and prior to sleep) you are not allowing that sweat to dry back up into your skin with the potential of being absorbed back into those said organs we just detoxified. -It's a vicious cylce 🤦🏼‍♀️!

The easy fix post workout is simply washing your face as your getting your gym bag and things ready to leave the gym. I leave my @athiaskin cleanser and moisturizer in my bag and just give my face a quick rinse while I am mixing my post workout shake (@1stphorm Phormula-1, Ignition, creatine and glutamine) . The cleanser itself smells nice, clean and not too over fragranced and doesn't dry my skin out. The moisturizer is light enough that I dont feel like I have a cakey layer of lotion on my face.

Fast forward, today here it’s 85lbs and I’ve put up 100lbs as well. More strength and a lot more mobility.

Have to be honest though, my right side is more mobile in my shoulders than my left. I fail a lot more with the arm I’m using in the video.

Progress, it’s tough, but can be achieved! Time and consistency conquer all!

Week 4 of challenge. Life/work makes things hard but remember why you started and remember your goals. Its easy to forget on weekends and totally blow all the hard work you did during the week. So today didn't go as planned but it was the best performance I could give. .
.
For squats and bench during my warm ups I ended up deciding to listen to my body and lower my openers which completely bummed me put. .
.
I hit 1/3 on squats and bench .
.
Deadlifts went way better hitting 3/3 .
.
My grand total was about 1,074 lbs coming up short about 100lbs from my goal. .
.
I got the gold metal since no one else was in my weight class and as much as it feels like a participation trophy it is a reminder of how fuckin hard I have worked in these last 4 months. .
.
This is just the beginning for me in this sport and I will get better as we go. .
.
I have to give a big shout out to my coach @fitnesswith_djj  for bringing me this far. Although it didn't show on the platform he has helped me get great results and I couldn't have done it without him. He has talked me off the ledge many times when I wanted to give up or when I've broken down because a training session took the life out of me. .
.
Another shout out goes to my boy @dean_romero_smtf because he has also been there for me these last 4 months of training to keep my head straight when I've wanted to quit or just had a bad day getting too far into my head. .
.
Lastly a shout out to all my @1stphorm  Phamily for constantly supporting me and pushing me to keep going. .

Today was so awesome day at Flagstaff for Terrain Racing with all of my good friends.  I cannot describe how I am proud of my two friends, who is first time doing obstacle course race.  The course was pretty fun and fast for only 5k course.

I am pretty happy with my results on the course by no stop run down the hill and learn how to skips over the rocks on the trail to avoid ankle breaker during race.  I am only five inches away to hit the bell on rope climb obstacle.  The moment I knew that I am almost there!  I have so much to work on my technique of the rope climbing to get ready for Spartan Race in Breckenridge for Beast, which it will be 2x Trifecta.

I have looking forward to receive multiple Trifecta at Spartan Race this year.

Putting in my Saturday work... weekends don’t necessarily mean time off. This is that consistency I talked about. It’s making yourself get up and get your ass in the gym when you would much rather be enjoying a slow, relaxing morning.  It’s making the choice to get some rest and not go out and party and drink, not always though 😉🍺🍺
It’s choosing to have a sustainable meal plan instead of flying by the seat of your pants with nutrition.

Have a goal, make conscious choices that will advance you toward that goal, recognize avoidable excuses that will derail your effort. •

@chris_puck_33 said "we could go sledding on that chart"  and it made me laugh but also pretty damn happy.  If you don't regularly read my post I do my weight checks on #weighinwednesday however I didn't post my normal fireworks and fancy photos.  I lost 0.3 when my goal is 3lbs per week.  I'm not even disappointed.  I'm not disappointed because.
.. 1) I'm ahead of my goal weight by the week.

 2) I've had a lot going on past couple weeks that in past would of turned me into a hungry hungry hippo over eating and drinking monster and soda non stop, but I stayed "strong" .
.
3) I said in the beginning I would only walk,  hike, lift and elliptical until I got below 300lbs.  Now I do all that plus bike and 5k training plus signed up for a 1 mile "race".
.
4) This past week I've realized I'm the strongest I've ever been and I'm not even pushing 100% with lifting. .
5) With the chaos these past 4 weeks I haven't been on my bike once,  Thursday my 1st night back in the saddle I had a goal of 4 miles,  rode 10 and was tempted to ride further and felt great.
.
6) This is the most important one.  I'm disappointed because what I'm doing is far more then losing weight,  I'm changing my lifestyle, my choices,  actions more then words.  Its simple,  I'm doing it. .
Years past I would of gotten so discouraged because I was so focused on one thing, the scale I missed everything else that was happening.  I couldn't "see the forest for the trees". Now I'm enjoying the "struggle", the "process", the "journey". .
If you find motivation or inspiration in anything I've posted I hope you read this last part.  I have figured out the key secret and want to share it.  If you aren't making progress,  please DO NOT  work harder,  or stress,  or worry that won't help.  What you need to do is  ENJOY the process,  smell the roses.  Look at your life today compared to your 1st day.  Look at what you can do not what you can't.  Live in the moment! -drops mic, signs off

I can remember being a child and thinking “I’m different”. I am one of 4 daughters, and I was by far the hardest child. The one stepping over the line, overly curious, questioned everything, ask for forgiveness instead of permission type of kid. To put it in plain English - a pain in the ass. .

I often wondered why it was so hard for me to just follow the rules. I was raised in a strict Christian home and went to a very particular structured type of church (sorry not my type of environment) and I just didn’t feel like I fit the mold - ever. Although my faith has strengthened and I see God in a whole different light- more Grace than religious. .

As I’ve gone through some extremely hard scenarios in life based on choices I’ve made for myself, and I don’t regret much (other than disrespecting my parents at times 🙁) Because I’ve learn. I’ve failed, but I’ve learned. I always wanted to fit into a perfect life scenario, but it’s taken me years to realize, that’s just not me. And I’ve learned to like myself and how I just don’t give a crap what anyone thinks anymore. You literally can’t be someone’s else’s idea of how life is and be happy. And you certainly can’t help other people get better if you don’t get knocked down yourself. Fall down, get up. Be different, be brave. Being safe never changed the world.

As I’ve gone through some extremely hard scenarios in life based on choices I’ve made for myself, and I don’t regret much (other than disrespecting my parents at times 🙁) Because I’ve learn. I’ve failed, but I’ve learned. I always wanted to fit into a perfect life scenario, but it’s taken me years to realize, that’s just not me. And I’ve learned to like myself and how I just don’t give a crap what anyone thinks anymore. You literally can’t be someone’s else’s idea of how life is and be happy. And you certainly can’t help other people get better if you don’t get knocked down yourself. Fall down, get up. Be different, be brave. Being safe never changed the world.
