Je me suis PROMIS d’être active pendant ces deux semaines ! Alors petit circuit de ce matin : squats sumo avec élastique - squats classiques - jump squats - planche classique - planche jambe levée. Max de répétitions (entre 15 et 30 selon l’exo et la fatigue), et rebelotte 4 fois👌🏻 avec entraînement aux handstands + quelques longueurs dans la piscine après, jetaisbien KO ! My recommendation: Lay on your back and plant your feet on an inflatable exercise ball (I find that the bigger, the more support and challenge you may have) with your knees flexed (starting position). With your core engaged at ALL times and a tight booty, raise your hips until you are in a straight line. Find your balance. Without sinking your hips back down (booty and abs need to be tight to support the hips in order to fully engage the hamstrings), extend your knees fully. Return to the starting position without resting on the floor. Repeat.

_______________________________________________ 😒 I didn't feel like working out today. I'm pretty mad at my body right now. I know there are off weeks and  fluctuations, but I'm an impatient person (which I'm working on). It's all very discouraging. But, I pushed through and took all my frustrations out on my legs. 😏 (not as a punishment, but for stress relief) ⭐ hip thrusts, ⭐squats,⭐ bulgarian split squats, ⭐lunge pulses, the whole shebang. I can already feel the stiffness creeping up on me. 🎀If anyone reads this that is currently still binge eating or laying on the couch all day, please get up and do something for your health. It is SO easy to let yourself go, but it's a nightmare some days trying to claw your way back. It's mentally and physically one of the hardest thing I've had to do, and I wish I had fixed it sooner. (Also, totally here for anyone that needs a friend!🤗) 🎀

Working hard at the moment to nail my squat form. •
I’ve managed to fix the strange lean to my right. I thought this was down to weak hip flexors.. turns out my feet weren’t quite square and slightly widening my stance fixed this.
•
I’ve started moving my hips and chest as one unit and I’m trying hard to keep my chest out and not lean forward. •
I now need to improve my confidence further and squat a little deeper. My plan is as follows... (1) incorporate some accessory exercises like goblet squats and box squats to improve depth and confidence (2) squat at least twice a week rather than avoiding this lift at all costs (3) keep the weight low until I’ve nailed the correct form, and only turn start to increase my load.

I’m already improving but still a long way to go... I’ll get there. Thanks to everyone who’s helped me with my squat form so far, you know who you are 😉👊🔥

In this tri-set I used a 40lb weight to perform these glute and ham-focused moves. Any time I use lighter weights I will also increase the repetitions in each set. Doing this increases “muscular endurance,” or your ability to exert a certain amount of effort before you fatigue. I generally prefer heavier/lower reps because its just less annoying tbh. If i see a workout and it tells me to do 15 reps im like HELL NAH BIH im adding a bunch of weight and cutting that number in half.

If your goal is just to generally get stronger and more fit, either works. For long-term progress and to keep things interesting, you can incorporate both heavy-weight/low-rep training and light-weight/high-rep training by switching it up throughout the week. I have been primarily doing heavy-weight/low-rep training for the last couple months  and have seen a significant decrease in my muscle endurance. To balance my shit out, I'm incorporating high-rep training/HIIT back into my workout regime and I'm stoked - I am in need of a good ass kicking

Antes de empezar a entrenar el abdomen siempre pido una demostración de como creen que tienen que trabajarlo. 🙆🏻‍♂️ El ejercicio que más me encuentro son crunches exagerados sin control alguno, como si por subir más y hacerlo más rápido fuera más efectivo. 😂 • ¿Cuál es la función del abdomen?

1- FIJA y ESTABILIZA el tronco.
2- Actúa como FAJA NATURAL y evita descompensaciones a nivel lumbar.
3- PROTEJE los órganos internos.
4- Interviene en la RESPIRACIÓN y la PRESIÓN intraabdominal. • ¿El abdomen es un solo músculo? ¿Existe abdomen superior, medio, inferior y lateral?😲 - La respuesta es NO! 👊 El abdomen se divide en: recto del abdomen, oblicuo interno y oblicuo externo. (Y músculos más pequeños como el piramidal y el cremaster) Al trabajar el abdomen también tocaremos intercostales y serrato. • ¿Con cuánta frecuencia recomiendas entrenarlo? ¿Cuánto volumen? 🤸🏻‍♂️ - Lo ideal desde mi punto de vista sería de 2 a 3 días a la semana entre 3 y 4 ejercicios. 👌🏼 ¿Quieres saber más sobre tu abdomen? Alittle bit ago I asked how everyone tracks their weights and I was super surprised that almost no one uses an app. It took me a while to find one I LOVED so maybe that’s why?  Either way, when I posted a screen shot from the app on my stories I got a bunch of DMs asking what it was so I thought it was worth doing a post about. I use Strong (link to free download in my bio). It’s a workout tracker app I've been using for the last month & I wish I had found it AGES ago! WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED?!?

So basically it helps you keep track of your weights and progress for lifts over time!  But heres a quick highlight reel:
✅ You can set up your workouts ahead of time & save them to use again and again or add lifts as you go.
✅ It displays what weight/reps you used last time for each exercise(no need to flip through your notebook/phone notes to remember)
✅ It has a built in rest timer (so I don’t have to think about watching the clock between sets)
✅ It has a built in huge library of exercises (with how to instructions if needed!) But you can also add your own!
✅ SO MUCH DATA! (you can analyze by exercise- rep, weight, by workout load, by month etc.!)

1- DB Deadlift: Go as heavy as you can, and make sure you DON’T rely on your back to lift the weight up 🙅🏻‍♀️ You want your hammies and glutes to do most of the work.

2- Banded Abductor Kicks: I wuv deeeez so much... aim for higher reps (12-15) each set to feel the burn! I also like to pigeon toe my kicking foot so that I’m working my abductor (side of the booty) muscles the most 🐦
.
3- Barbell Curtesy Lunge: If you haven’t done these before, you’re lunging back so that your kicking leg is landing behind and to the outside of your planted foot! Almost so that your feet are in a diagonal line 👌🏼

4- DB Froggy Glute Bridge: This 🐸/🦋 stance puts more emphasis on your abductor muscles, meaning you get that side booty poppin’! You can rest your feet on a bench, box, or smith machine barbell like I did!

I had seen aerialist before but they always seemed unobtainable. Something about watching Zendaya made me feel like I could do this. I knew that I had to try and I am so happy that I did. Not only am I working out but I leave feeling confident and proud of myself. Silks is hard. It's the kind of activity that you leave that first time feeling like you got your ass kicked. A lot of people try it and then never come back. Which is so unfortunate because you learn and get stronger. I encourage you to get out there and do that thing you've been wanting to do. You deserve it. Get out there and make it happen.

As a trainer I am constantly speaking people's spirits up and giving them motivation to push through the pain, to never give up, and to pick up the pace when they start showing signs of slowing down while working out. Unfortunately, I can't get my workout in until after classes are done and I am all alone. No trainers by my side, no workout partner to keep me motivated, and no lingering eyes to keep my head in the game. Here is a video that I wasn't planning on posting but decided to anyways to show the power of mindset. As you can see, at first the weight seemed alot heavier than it was and I couldn't get it. But after 2 minutes of mentally beating myself up I was able to pick the damn thing up. Compare the face from the fail with the success. Here is your "Motivational Monday." At times you will not be successful, at those times take a step back, regroup, and try again. Working out on holiday isn’t always ide. Unless I’m on a relaxing beach break, I don’t bother. City mini-breaks involve a lot of walking, and dependent on the landscape you’re probably already hiking up and down hills without knowing it!
As the Algrave is as chilled as it gets, I found myself with energy to expel. Luckily the hotel has a gym so I’ve made use of the equipment available for a leg workout 🙌🏼 Try these moves out to work up a real sweat!
