Pigeon legs stuffed with sausage + truffles, on braised mushrooms with more truffles. The best thing I ate at @chinatanghk - which was pretty awesome all-round tbh. 😱 🇭🇰————————————————————————

Women are said to have a separate tummy space for desserts but what happens when filling this sweet space is the sole focus for the night...?
A ‘wine & cheese’ dessert; best eaten by picking a crisp, top it up w the sourdough sorbet & grapes.
The ‘vanilla’ wasn’t a real vanilla bean btw. Started off smokey~
~ New wave.
The Dessert that won over all our hearts! What’s hidden under the crispy caramelised blanket was a carrot cake, a scoop of sunflower ice cream & surprisingly, chunks of grilled carrots marinated in OJ.
~ Jitterbug perfume.
Definitely the most bitter dessert I’ve had; one that doesn’t suit our liking... there was a lil excitement in us as we watched the other table cringe when they dug in to the dessert after us ;p A base of local melon poached in honey & a jasmine lemon meringue to top it up but none actually balanced up the bitter coffee beans.
I actually thought this dish perfectly described a breakup; a bittersweet end to a new beginning.
~ Angel’s kiss.
Made w white tofu & chamomile liquor, paired w a generous portion of jackfruit granita.
~ Incidente stradale.
My friends explained that Jamu is a commodity in Indo & they grew up drinking this strong herbal drink hence striking up a sense of nostalgia for them.
~ The sugar refinery.
An amazing blend of flavours; but by this stage, we were a lil over fed by sweetness. Though we wld have enjoyed the sorbet on its own - simple & uncomplicated.
~ Caramel tea brûlée.
A pretty light brûlée like a cold black tea custard pudding. Would have been such a great end to a nice savoury dinner!
A gorgeous display like an elegant lady proudly attending the races w her fascinator.
Scoop right to the bottom & have a bite of everything. Otherwise it’d just be overly sweet w a sour foamy mousse & you’d never find that surprise chunks of cookies at the bottom! That was the key ingredient that brought our excitement back up after a full 9-course dessert tasting.
Have you done a dessert tasting? If so, did you leave the restaurant adrenaline-rushed or bloated w a vow to not have desserts for the remaining week?

Introduced to what is considered the ‘wagyu’ of lamb by @kowfuu
For the breed geeks, it’s a new breed which is a cross between the Dorper, poll Dorset, Van Rooy and Texel. My most memorable chomp was a big chew on the fat as it dissolved on my palate. Flavour overload ❣️
A very delicious dish of whelk with aioli at @martinboireetmanger with @zoeybelleville and @nmaiarelli to round off day 1 of my new gig. 🐚 Hadn’t even finished unboxing my laptop when I was informed that a) I was flying to another city with a partner for a pitch and client kick-off in two days, and that b) there’s craft beer and cold brew on tap in the bistro. #VanyaInStartupland 🤷🏻♀️

Back to Back Empellon visits this week! This is the Chocolate Mousse w/Goats Milk Raspado. Finished table side with Chicory Cold Brew. Less talked about or instagrammed than some of the other desserts, but no less awesome 👏👏👏
Some nights simply call for hot tea. We’ve been proudly serving @hellosongtea for a few months now and we’re excited so many of you are down for it and loving our selection. One of our favorites is the BUDDHA’S HAND which is an oolong tea that’s round, sweet, and luscious with notes of dark chocolate, black sugar, and malted barley.

Spicy Ramen from Menzo Ramen.
The weirdest thing I encounter after two months in Canada? Daylight saving.
I don’t really understand but I will try to explain. So on Sunday, March 11, 2018, 2:00:00 am clocks were turned forward 1 hour to Sunday, March 11, 2018, 3:00:00 am local daylight time instead.
It ends on Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2:00:00 am where clocks were turned backward 1 hour to Sunday, November 4, 2018, 1:00:00 am instead. So on November 3 when I look at the world clock, Yangon is +10:30 hours ahead but now it’s +11:30 hours ahead and Singapore is +13:00 hours ahead instead of +12:00 hours ahead.
P.S. I honestly didn’t understand a single thing I just read or wrote ...

Dinner in 10 minutes? I’m in. Partnering with @successrice to share the recipe for this Breakfast Anytime Quinoa Bowl. I love their boil in a bag quinoa because it only takes 10 minutes for perfectly fluffy quinoa. I literally whipped this bowl up in the time it took the quinoa to boil and am ready to master the rest of my day! Recipe:
Boil Success Quinoa according to instructions.
Sauté handful of cherry tomatoes in avocado oil and season with everything bagel seasoning.
Fry egg in pan with tomatoes.
After quinoa is cooked, drain and immediately add to bowl with a large handful of spinach and more everything bagel seasoning. Stir until spinach is wilted.
Top with tomatoes, egg and avocado.
When you didn’t get your average bagel intake over the weekend, so you make up for it on Monday.

My fave way to eat persimmons is in a salad. I tossed thinly sliced persimmons with curly endives, Gorgonzola, Dates & Aleppo maple pecans in a shallot buttermilk vinaigrette. Add a protein of choice and you’ve got a complete lunch/dinner! 🥗
