Core sliders are those disc shaped contraptions at the gym that are designed to minimize friction, allowing you to slide on the floor. They’re a great option to use to open yourself up to some new exercises to try (and honestly.. to try and make your workouts more fun!)
We often get caught up in aesthetic progress with our workouts, but it’s important to work on those stabilizer muscles to help improve our overall performance in the gym. Having a strong core will help with proper form in all exercises and help prevent injury.
And I truly believe ABS are made in the kitchen!

I’ve always been one to struggle with being positive and looking at the bright side of life. Some days, the negative experiences and constant downfalls in life really get me down. However, I’m trying really hard lately to be more positive. I take time every night for meditation, yoga and writing down 3 things I’m grateful for. I get up every morning, drink my cup of water, ACV, and lemon juice, and meditate.
In one week, two people hit my car then did a runner. I’m struggling with never seeing my partner due to clashing schedules. I’m am severely missing my family. But, good things are happening too.
• I’ve almost completed the second to last week of Cert 4 in Fitness. ✨
• I start working at @goodlifehc Crossroads in 17 days.
• I complete the first day of induction tomorrow.
Good things happen, but sometimes the bad things cast shadows over them. Don’t let the bad things do that. Take control and find the positives.

Every night before bed, I write down 3 things that I am grateful for. It helps me stay present and to practice gratitude.
Today I am grateful for my body. I feel tight. I feel sore. I feel exhausted. I can’t hold my favourite poses as well as I normally can but the best thing about yoga is that it’s not about the destination at all. It’s all about the journey. It’s about moving with the breath, flowing, both relaxing and challenging the body, and simply BEING. I love yoga for the way it makes me feel challenged, yet empowered. I love my body for constantly allowing me to push it past my perceived limits of it. After struggling with tightness is my chest, my diaphragm compensating for all of my abdominal muscles, and a shoulder injury, I am building my strength and endurance back on up. 💪🏻🙌🏻

Recipe:
170g old fashioned gluten free oats
100g natural blanched almonds 
1 cup of soft pitted medjool dates 
1/4 cup of melted coconut oil
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla bean paste 
Add all the crust ingredients except the dates and coconut oil into the food processor and pulse until you have a fine meal. Then add the dates and pulse until a sticky mixture form in the bowl. You want to keep the dates chunky rather than a smooth paste. Press the mixture into the baking tin so it’s even at the sides. Place in the freezer to firm up while you prepare the filling.

Chocolate almond butter Filling 
2 1/2 cups of raw soaked cashew nuts ( soak at least 3 hours beforehand ) 
3 tbs smooth natural almond butter
2/3 cup coconut oil
2/3 cup raw cacao powder
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup coconut milk ( canned variety )
1 tbs vanilla bean paste 
Add the cashews, maple syrup, vanilla and coconut milk to the food processor and pulse until completely smooth like velvet. Be sure to scrape any mixture down from the sides. Then add the rest of the filling ingredients and pulse until smooth and creamy. Pour mixture on top of the prepared crust and freeze until solid for at least two hours. Once you are ready to serve your cheesecake put in the fridge 30-60 mins before hand to thaw and then keep what’s left refrigerated for up to 3 days.

Seriously! Try out this seated side lateral raise! Limited momentum and swing force you to use more of your muscle. Try to go slow on both up and down. Make sure you feel the burn on that lateral head of your shoulder!
