Ever since I started this #leanbulk / #caloriesurplus I have been feeling stronger and thicker. I've always had issues committing to a strict bulk. Every time I tried I'd quit 1,2,3 weeks into it. Now that I have done my research and played around with some numbers, I can confidently say I will be committing to this #bulk for the next 4-5 months. Looking to gain 6-10lbs of lean body mass and no more than 5lbs from fat.

I get a ton of questions about carb cycling. It’s one of the newer eating strategies and is getting more popular. Do I recommend it? Not really. It’s a much more advanced method than most other strategies and requires strict tracking and constant modifications along the way. There are endless variations for every goal and unless you really know your body and are very good at tracking, you’ll have trouble sustaining it

That being said, some people respond very well to it so I made some basic guidelines to follow if you really want to give it a shot and see how your body responds
.
To lose fat, you need to eat less than you burn and you want enough protein. The low carb days will amplify your caloric deficit and the high carb days will give you energy to workout and allow you to enjoy more carbs (make it more sustainable) 👍🏼 - Make sure you keep your protein around 1 g/ lb of BW and vary your fat vs. carb levels : Try to get 2 of your workouts in on the high carb days

Gaining muscle while carb cycling. Here you need to be in a «gentle» caloric surplus. Still get in that 1 g of protein/ lb of BW and allow the fat and carb levels to fluctuate. Again, try to get your workouts in on high carb days

Please keep in mind that there are MANY variations of carb cycling. Some stagger high/low/no carb days and some have low/no carb days stacked together. Unless you are extremely advanced, don’t worry about this stuff at all. Seriously 😎

Had an insane pump on earlier, lying tricep extensions followed swiftly by some bicep spider curls which you really can feel! 🤙 ... When you go in the gym for leg day and somehow the arms start doing the squatting 🤔 why does this happen to me like every time 😂  I feel like I’m really getting toward where I’m aiming and couldn’t be happier with my progress so far TBH, I really appreciate the support I’ve had from people around me which ultimately has continued to keep me motivated, focused and driven.

Excellent diagram here by my friend Mr. Loki as he shows us what may causing you knee pain and you didn't realize it.

I thought this one was appropriate as today I trained lower body and I'm always very conscious about how my feet and knees are traveling during a regular or front squat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You see your knees are suppose to externally rotate in order to squat properly as shown on the left side portion of the diagram.  If you find yourself having your knees traveling inward you are experiencing a internal rotation of the knee.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Perhaps the root cause is actually not the knees themselves but "flat feet", you can see one the right side of the diagram by not having a arch in the foot can cause the foot to collapse and force the knee to travel internally.  You'll see squatters at this point have a buckling of the knees while performing the exercise.

If you are having issues performing the squat, be sure to check out other areas for the root cause because it may not necessarily be your knees having the issues.

Post-workout smoothie after an absolutely brutal CrossFit session 💦 ➖➖
I did my usual workout, but after my warm up I felt great, so I challenged myself to add in an extra set of each exercise 😈 ➖➖
Then, once I’d finished that, the gym instructor came over to me and, long story short, I ended up doing another 5 sets of different exercises! ➖➖
So it’s safe to say that I’m wrecked! But it was so good and I haven’t stopped smiling since 😁 The instructors at the gym know me as “CrossFit girl” and this was only my 3rd time at this gym ~ I love it 😁 (it’s not a CrossFit gym, just a regular one but I’m not afraid to get creative 🤷🏼‍♀️) ➖➖
5 sets of:
💦 10 x hang, clean and press SS w/ 10 jump squats 💦 10 x hang and clean SS w/ 10 burpees 💦 10 x deadlifts SS w/ 10 burpees
💦 10 x overhead press SS w/ 10 burpees 
Plus 5 sets of: 💥 12 non-stop box jumps SS w/ 10 mountain climber kick-throughs on each leg (I don’t know their proper name)
Finisher: 🔥 5 sets of 10 burpees (to get to a total of 200 burpees 😁) Cool down: 10min treadmill walk
