It’s been so long coming and it’s crazy that it is real - but I start #lawschool in just under 8 days! 😱
I won’t lie - the #planner is color coordinated and I have attempted to “pre plan” and #de -clutter as much of my life as possible but I’m still pretty terrified!
Full time job, school 4 nights a week, trying to stay healthy/fit, find time for friends and #excel academically ... this is gonna be one of my most challenging hurdles yet, but I’m excited!
The size of a #problem is nothing compared to your ability to solve them; don’t overestimate the problems and don’t #underestimate yourself.
I hope I see lots of lovely names of friends, family and travels in my planner pages during the next four years - because at the end of this degree (and passing the bar exam) I want to #celebrate with you all by my side! ❤️
Hello! Ben and Lindsay here documenting our first week as 1Ls (along with a few other 1Ls). We are beyond grateful to attend law school and look forward to what is ahead. Oh yeah, did we mention we are married?! #washburnlaw#lawschool#futurelawyer#1L
Victoria University’s stunning Queen Street campus is made up of two main heritage buildings in the heart of Melbourne's legal precinct and two smaller buildings.
Constructed in 1900, it was originally built to hold official records including births, deaths and marriages, as well as legal records and wills.
The building was designed in a French Second Empire style and features zinc gargoyles, a magnificent marble staircase, Corinthian columns and pilasters, marble and cast iron balustrades.
Previously, it’s been open to the public for tours during the annual Open House Melbourne event. 📸: @thecitygrammer

A few years ago, when I set out to tell the story of my life, I was a few months away from graduating from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Basking in my own glory, I thought I would get to tell an extraordinary story about a little Black boy whose childhood had been marred by poverty, but who had used his own strength and intelligence to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. But that plan was foiled when the Drug Enforcement Administration arrested me for allegedly conspiring to sell a few kilograms of cocaine. The informant that set me up was a trusted friend who got in trouble with the Feds and began “cooperating” in exchange for a shorter sentence in his own criminal case.
But my fall from glory did not extinguish my deep seated urge to tell you my side of the story. However, rather than telling you about the circumstances of my life from the vantage point of a corporate lawyer, I am telling it from the perspective of a 34 year old prisoner who has been sentenced to serve a decade in a cold metal cage. Whether you believe it or not, my perception of this country would be the same if I had succeeded in my quest to join corporate America. Either way, no words or exclamations can express the anger and frustration I feel toward this system. These feelings of intense repulsion began when I was only a child and have nearly reached a boiling point
As you shall see, I don’t care about political correctness! I am telling this story based on the way I feel and the way I see this county. And even though I express these words as an individual, you can be absolutely certain that there are many more Black men and women who share my same hostility and frustration. I just happen to have the time, education and inspiration to reduce my thoughts to paper.
While telling this story, I will try my best not to drift off and spill some explosive emotion about something that has happened or is happening to me inside this dark and dreadful dungeon... #blacklivesmatter#prison#childabuse#domesticviolence#blackfamily#fatherandson#motivation#hbcu#writing#blackhistory#massincarceration#lawschool#hiphop#prisonstrike#blackmen#diversity
HEADS UP: gushy post about my hot husband ahead.
So incredibly proud and excited for this amazing man to start Law School tomorrow at the University of Oregon. I remember sitting with him when we first started dating 5 years ago- he talked about how he dreamed of becoming a lawyer but he didn’t think he could ever make it happen. I told him that day that not only do I believe he can make it happen but that he needs to make it happen. Since then I have watched him work and fight to make that dream a reality. Tomorrow is the next step in this incredible journey of his. Go Ducks! 🦆🦆🦆💚💛💚#universityoforegon#quackquack#lawschool#lawstudent#achievingdreams
I’ve just completed my first year as a student of Comenius University Faculty of Law in Bratislava. In my teenage years I’ve been dreaming about being a model, I even spent 3 months in Milan going to castings and experiencing models life. My interest in law and politics appeared when my school organized human rights competition, which I somehow won and found out that I want my career to be connected with law. The decision to go to law school was the next step to take, but imagine that some people only percieved me as a blondie with zero serious ambitions for education. First year of law school was not easy at all, in Slovakia you can get to law school quite easily but getting through first year is a completely different story. Studying and motivating myself was worth it. I want to inspire all of the young girls and women - You can be who YOU want to be and you can change your mind at any time. Now I’m preparing for my third semester at Comenius University in Bratislava and at the same time I’m competing in regional beauty competition in Slovakia called misshorehronie (@misshorehronie). You can vote for me from August 1.

Soooo...some saw in my stories a while back, that I’ve been working on a podcast for my agency. We’re now two shows in, so I feel secure in saying I’m the host for this podcast 🙈|| The topics are about legal aid, specifically the work my agency does, but it’s presented in super casual convo to reach a broader audience (not just a bunch of nerd attorneys 🤓). Obviously there’s lots of room for growth and I don’t expect y’all to become ardent fans—instead, I wanted to share this news in this space because it’s important to acknowledge milestones AND the fact that a Latina was selected to be a “voice” of a large legal aid in a major US city is a milestone worth mentioning 😉 || also worth mentioning: all the views on my site are my own and don’t reflect the views of my employer. #lawyers 🙄
How many are done shopping for school supplies? 🙋🏽♀️ Honestly the only thing I miss about school 😂 but if you’re starting law school soon it’s important to go prepared! The link in the bio discusses some must-have supplies for law school—check it out! And here is where I also beg you to consider taking your notes on actual paper (😦 I know!) but trust me you absorb the subject matter so much better when you write vs typing. I know, I know—this is heresy but, really consider it! 😉
