Sunday’s Mews Muse the inimitable style of beautiful Lauren Hutton 💕. My all time style icon celebrated her 75th birthday yesterday! I actually named my daughter after her @lscrispin 💕
Happy 75th birthday to renowned model and actress Lauren Hutton, who has been signed by Revelon in the early 70s and continues to model to this day with appearances in campaigns for H&M and Lord and Taylor and has appeared in films and tv shows such as Paper Lion, American Gigolo, The Gambler, Once Bitten, and Nip/Tuck. Gorgeous lady and best wishes to her. #laurenhutton#beautifulwomen#actressandmodels#greatactress
Birthday wishes to Lauren Hutton, born this day in Charleston, SC. Her mother divorced her father, who was stationed in England during WWII. She never knew him, as he died when she was 12, except through a letter he wrote upon her birth describing their “ancestors, what he felt was important in the world, what books I should read and what he wanted for me.” She moved to NY in the late 1960s to pursue a modeling career. Advised by agents to disguise the gap between her front teeth, she used a cap, often swallowing or misplacing it. She eventually abandoned it to create a more natural on-camera persona, later appearing on the cover of Vogue a record 26 times. Lauren was the first model to negotiate a major cosmetics deal, the largest contract in the history of the modeling industry. Inspiringly, twenty years later, she resigned with Revlon. She made her film debut in “Paper Lion” (1968) and was well-reviewed for “The Gambler” (1974) opposite James Caan. After a memorable role in “American Gigolo”, she went through a difficult period in the eighties; but she appeared in a campaign for Barney’s NY at the age of 45, a remarkable feat in light of the youth-absorbed times. Five years later, she performed as a runway model for Calvin Klein and did the same for Tom Ford after turning 67 (pictured above). Lauren had posed nude, an eight page feature for “Big” entitled ‘Lauren Hutton: The Beautiful Persists’, when 61. She appeared in her first feature film in more than two decades with the 2009 release of “The Joneses”, sharing a starring role with Demi Moore and David Duchovny. Lauren, who once said: “We have to be able to grow up. Our wrinkles are our medals of the passage of life”, is in the process of writing her memoirs, likely to carry the title of “Smile”. It will be interesting to read her reflections on Bob Williamson, who acted as her accountant for most of her career. Upon his death, she discovered that $32M was missing. In his will, he left $2.5M to his new wife and none to Lauren.
A icônica atriz atriz e modelo americana Lauren Hutton completa 75 anos hoje.
Lauren Hutton. 75 years today. She is an American model and actress. Raised in the southern United States, Hutton relocated to New York City in her early adulthood to begin a modeling career. Though she was initially dismissed by agents for a signature gap in her teeth, Hutton signed a modeling contract with Revlon in 1973, which at the time was the biggest contract in the history of the modeling industry. Over her career, Hutton has worked both as a model and an actress, making her film debut in the sports drama Paper Lion in 1968, opposite Alan Alda. She also played central roles in The Gambler (1974) and American Gigolo (1980), and later appeared on television in the network series Paper Dolls and Nip/Tuck. Hutton has continued to model into her seventies, appearing in numerous advertising campaigns for H&M, Lord and Taylor, and Alexander Wang, and performed on the runway for Tom Ford's spring 2012 collection, as well as for Bottega Veneta at the 2016 New York Fashion Week. Hutton met Luca Babini on a film set in 1991 and he said of the relationship's development in 1996: "I was coming out of a divorce, and she became like a sister to me. Then I fell in love with her. And I loved her feet, which say so much about a person." Babini also referred to Hutton as "accessible and down to earth," and described her as a person with "very clear opinions" that she was willing to express. In October 2000, Hutton joined a motorbike group, which included actors Dennis Hopper, Laurence Fishburne and Jeremy Irons, to celebrate "The Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit at the Hermitage-Guggenheim museum in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to the journey, Hutton informed the Las Vegas Review-Journal: "I love the feeling of being a naked egg atop that throbbing steel. You feel vulnerable — but so alive." En route, Hutton crashed near Hoover Dam, on the border between the US states of Arizona and Nevada, going over 100 miles (160 km) per hour, and suffered multiple leg fractures, a fractured arm, broken ribs and sternum, and a punctured lung. #laurenhutton
