It’s time for a ditch 🔄 switch!
Did you know that the highest level of VOCs in your home are in your laundry room? 😳
Fabric softener is the #1 cause of indoor air pollution and those toxins not only pollute the air, they leach onto your clothes, towels, and sheets!🤮
Wool dryer balls > dryer sheets. We love to add 2-3 drops of @younglivingeo oil to each ball depending on what we have in the dryer:
✨purification for our gym clothes and towels
✨lavender for our sheets
✨grapefruit for our clothes
PS: @traderjoes has a pack of 4 dryer balls for $5 that are 100% New Zealand wool and hand felted in Nepal! 🤩
Vari : everything is more difficult here, haha!
Me: Mm... In Europe we have machines that wash our clothes for us, but with what we received with these machines (more free time, less work), we lost the tradition of washing our clothes together. Gathering at the river around a pile of laundry is something that we don't know. Maybe it's because of the little things that there is more depression in my world... #laundry#river#igarape#together#clothes#dailychores#forest#friends#community @povopuyanawa
This last weekend my husband and son went hunting so it was just me and the two girls. Do you know what that means?? That means #1 we eat out for every frickin meal. I will not inconvenience myself with baking when they are off doing their thing. #2 . Oh there was some great shopping that happened. We went from one store to another buying a bunch of crap we didn't need. For example the girls got an XL tub of slime. Then I taught my girls one of the most important things you can learn in life....that is how to hide all of the stuff you just bought. Some decor you sit right next to other stuff and when he says, "is that new?". You say, "that? Oh no, that's been there forever. Look how well it fits into the decor there.". Under the bed is a great hiding spot along with the top of the closet. So when the question comes, "What all did you buy?". You can say, "not much...just some necessities.". You know, like giant slime, more decor, perhaps some kitty earmuffs for my youngest...all necessity. Does anyone else do the buy and hide method?
Tried my hand at making our own Laundry detergent. My thoughts on the process: My grating arm hurts, but my hand smells CLEAN 🤣. Recipe:
1 cup Borax
1 cup Washing Soda
1 Bar of Dr. Bonner’s Soap- I got fragrance free and adding my own oils.
If you make your own: What oils do you use and how much? How much of the powder do you put in a load of wash? We have an apartment washer and dryer so we have SMALL loads.

Does anyone else feel as bad as I do when you have clothes that aren't good enough to give away (stains, rips, etc) but you don't want to throw them in the trash either? I have a number of these tucked away in my 'good intentions to repurpose' pile. Well this week's Make-It-Monday post will have us finally making use of those rags: homemade reusable dryer sheets! This recipe uses vinegar, glycerine, water and essential oils. Your repurposed rags are stored in a jar with that mixture and you simply pull one out and add it to the wet clothes in your dryer. Another use for the liquid is to pour it into your final rinse cycle of your wash. Vinegar is not only an excellent odor fighter but it helps reduce static as well. Recipe is up on the blog (link in bio). Have a great week!
Easily one of the most annoying household tasks, folding a fitted sheet is actually more of a tucking process. Follow along in our video with Wirecutter editor Jen Hunter to learn a technique that will make your closet look a little neater, or click through the link in our bio to see the extended version.

I have been hang drying some of my sons clothes lately and let me tell you it has made a HUGE difference. He’s growing so fast and goes through clothes sometimes several times throughout the day! Hang drying them has kept them in better, larger condition for much longer and is saving us a ton of money! #momtips#newmom#hangdry#diy#momlife#babyboy#babyclothes#laundry
