A lot of people told me I wasn’t going to like #Athens . I actually really enjoyed it. The food was great, the people were friendly and most things were pretty affordable. It also wasn’t terribly crowded since we visited after the Summer season had ended.
Have you ever been? What was your experience like?
Feliz cumpleaños al chico que ha estado conmigo en cada sueño @michelduarte00 y yo en los de él, estoy realmente orgullosa de que seas parte de mi vida 🌟 Te amo y te seguiré acompañando en cada paso 🎊🎁

(En español en los comentarios) If you knew me a few years back, you know I have always had a love for fashion. Sometimes living beyond my means to stay on top of the fashion trends. Yes that got me in a lot of trouble and I learned my lesson.
Being in this industry it requires you to stay on top of fashion trends to be in the game. So I guess what I am saying, where there’s a will, you will find a way to make it happen. Nowadays I’m able to find ways to stay stylish without breaking the bank. I don’t really care about brand names as I use to before because that just doesn’t matter to look stylish. Don’t get me wrong, I do like to splurge once in a while, I find a balance.
Find your style and just take risk from time to time. Everyone can look stylish with a little imagination.
This guy always goes above and beyond for my birthday and this year was no exception! We have one more day in Boston and I’m so not ready to leave. It’s by far one of my favorite cities and this trip solidified it.
Yesterday was a ton of walking so I kept it cozy for my #ootd . I linked my entire @hm outfit here: http://liketk.it/2xs9w #liketkit @liketoknow.it #acornstreet#birthdayweekend#visitboston
NEW BLOG UP!
I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever. It’s been so hard to make time to do it, the new site needs a lot of work, but I gotta start somewhere. So please be patient with the construction but still visit!

I had so much fun rediscovering makeup in my own collection this last week! Sometimes it’s good to take a step back and appreciate what you have instead of drooling over the newest launch and convincing yourself that you “need” it lol 😂
I’m wearing some of the @coastalscents shadows I swatched for you yesterday. Fools Gold and Olivewood in the crease, and Dark Goldenrod over the lid 😊

“As I have matured, I have come to realize the importance of practicing self-care and making this a priority in my life. Over time, I have also learned to accept that my self-care looks different depending in the current phase of my life.
I currently practice self-care by ensuring that I partake in the things I enjoy or bring joy to my life. Some of those things include, hiking at least once per month (literally unplugging), praying, volunteering, spending time with my family and friends, as well as my dog Jaxen. I enjoy starting my day listening to Christian music as it helps remind me to be grateful for the things I have, instead of focusing on my stressors. I constantly have to remind myself that I can only worry about the things that are in my control, which at times is easier said then done. I take care of my well-being by ensuring that I get six to eight hours of sleep daily, exercising at least three times per week, and always praying before I go to bed. I truly appreciate that I have a group of sisters/friends that allow me to express my true self and understand the importance of speaking about mental health and how we can support one another!
Things I want to start doing: I would love to begin practicing yoga and breathing techniques as well as learning to unplug more often from social media and electronics.”✨
Thanks for sharing, Tanya! Sleep is definitely a big component of a healthy routine 😴🙌🏽
✨Show Up✨Tonight, on the blog I’m speaking face to face with my sisters about showing up. What would your life look like if you gave 120% in your relationship with God? In your marriage? In every aspect of your life? Sis, I’m learning life makes you not want to show up sometimes, but God has been too faithful for us not to. Click the link in my bio! Let’s talk face to face!
I had a super cute warm-weather outfit planned, then @karlthefog 😏 rolled in. I’m sure my fellow SF girls can relate!🤞🏽it’ll be a warm one next week. Happy Saturday! @liketoknow.it #liketkit http://liketk.it/2xs4M

I ain't gunna front...I posted another pic before this one and deleted it twice because 1. I am majorly indecisive 2. I was gunna save posting this for mañana but I had to...present this little one to the mug community of mine 😂 🙆🙆🙆 Shaunie surprised me with it yesterday evening! TOTALLY unexpected and it was in a cute little blush pink bag. I have not bought this mug for literally months because I have been trying to exercise some self control. Umm, I can't even. 😍 #mugaddict
Ahhhh well hello there weekend! I think it's safe to say everyone loves you like I love the sunlight shining in through my kitchen window. I hope everyone has a delightful weekend! 🌻Today was the first day waking up to a chilliness in our home because the temperature dropped. What a fitting way to welcome the F A L L!
In law school there are seasons of stress where you feel all you can do is survive the moment. During these times you may depend on bad habits to manage the stress—very normal and natural because those bad habits can feel so good! But the post in the link discusses why it’s better, in the long run, to develop healthy habits during times of stress. Your body and mind will thank you for it and you’ll be better suited to work through stressful times in school (and in practice!).
I vividly remember learning to read. I was in a transition class as a newly arrived 6-year-old immigrant and ESL courses were non-existent in late 80s Indiana 🤷🏽♀️😂 but I was so lucky to have a great teacher who patiently taught us the sounds of each letter. It seemed like overnight I could read everything—and I basically did. Books were how I escaped problems, big and small. Later in life, books proved to not only be an escape, but a tool to help plan my future. I’m sure many of us relate (hello, we wouldn’t be lawyers if we didn’t love to read 🤓). Today’s post celebrates the beginning of #latinxheritagemonth ! I’m sharing four books, by Latina authors, that jump-started my career and empowered me to take ownership of my Latindad. || what are your fave books by Latinas?!
Happy Independence Day! I’m also super excited for the start to Latinx Heritage Month! || I took a pic of this portrait, which hangs in the lobby of @mujereslatinasenaccion, after I presented in Spanish to a group of social service providers ☺️ MLEA is an amazing organization that focuses on the empowerment, development, and safety of fellow Latinas!
Raise your hand if you love going to networking events 🙋🏽♀️ —it’s not just me, right?!? For many, networking is awkward, tedious, and a chore BUT it’s a vital part of building your career. As we enter #hispanicheritagemonth there will be a lot of networking events to consider attending. The link in the bio shares why shouldn’t talk yourself out of going and ways to make these events worthwhile so that you stop dreading them & begin to enjoy them!
Nailing the interview is the easy part—the big obstacle is making your application so top-notch that there’s no way they’ll pass on interviewing you. Unfortunately a lot of little mistakes can knock you out of the running. Today’s post shares what mistakes to avoid and what steps you must take in order to keep your application viable. And yes it’s true—it’s the little things that make a huge difference.
Back at @loyola_law_chicago 🤓 || I’m facilitating a course this semester and am super pumped for it! The course focuses on acknowledging & interrupting implicit bias as one begins their professional development (& supes jealous that this didn’t exist when I was a student!)
Sadly, the latest survey results from #worklifelaw don’t paint the best picture. It’s still a struggle for attorneys of color. And women of color face even bigger barriers. There are many, many ways firms can combat this (if they really want to) but in the meantime, we have to deal with the realities of how implicit and explicit bias impact our careers. While there are some things we can’t control, there are also many tools we can use to overcome these problems and forge a career that suits us (search the “legal practice” tag on the blog for ideas!). || y muchas gracias to @mslagunitas for sharing @uchastingslaw’s post with me!
This year’s #mextalks we’re great! Not only did I get to hear from a bunch of great artists (including @erikalsanchez who wrote the amazing #notyourperfectmexicandaughter ) but also got to learn about #cassandro , who has a bio pic coming out starring Gael Garcia 😍|| Also, have to mention how grateful I am for @latinospro! I was drowning as a 1L with no summer job prospects when I cold-emailed the legal director to ask if I could volunteer. They didn’t need the help and they could have said thanks, but no thanks (it’s not easy on-boarding interns), but they gave me a chance! I spent my 1L summer working on VAWAs, which led to my next internship, which lead to a career in immigration! Seriously, I was fumbling in the dark throughout law school and this internship became a flashlight (and I’m eternally grateful)!
