This week, we invited someone on the show who we THOUGHT was an ACTUAL ghost. He claimed he could levitate, disappear, walk through walls, even possess people. All of that was a lie. After making a mess of the studio, we found out who he truly was. Link in bio. @currywhitmire
When I handed her the reusable coffee cup I always keep in my car, the drive-thru attendant at Einstein’s Bagels gave a stern grimace and informed me she would only fill it this one time because it was not “their policy” to refill a reusable cup that was not “theirs” and especially not one from a competitor! I paid for the coffee without saying a word but before pulling away, I politely said that the purpose of reusable cups was for the common good of the planet. It wasn’t about commercialism but environmentalism. She eventually stopped talking over me to hear me say that if every store required customers to buy their own branded reusable cups it would defeat the purpose of reusables and hardly reduce our global plastic footprint. She reluctantly agreed as I thanked her and pulled away.
Whether I changed what I’m sure was “her” reusable cup policy or not I couldn’t say, but every time any of us has a conversation with another person, especially restaurant workers who influence so many patrons, we raise the world’s collective environmental conscious ever so slightly. So I encourage you to #bethecanary and risk having these sometimes awkward conversations as you go about your day because change happens exponentially and, one day, we will all realize we drink from the same cup!

New research from the @csirogram has shown that eating just one piece of plastic can drastically increase a sea turtles chances of death. This is incredibly depressing, but also motivating - every-time we say no to single-use plastic we could truly be saving a sea-turtle.
If you'd like to read more on this research head to my Facebook, link in bio. 🐢
