Last nights scrum complete with kids versions 😋
- BBQ beef sausages, mushrooms, roasted sweet potato chunks (in garlic 🤤) with crispy chick peas, and a kale & blueberry salad with roasted almonds, coconut and goats cheese.
Pork and Chicken Sisig. 🌶🍋 Sisig is a popular Filipino dish - basically a hash made of chopped up grilled or fried meat and sautéed with onions, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon or lime juice and seasoned with spices. 👩🏻🍳 I used pork shoulder and chicken thigh meat in my recipe. I simmered them in homemade chicken broth, lime juice, onion and garlic powder until the meat was tender and the juices reduced. I browned the meat, diced them after cooling down and sautéed with ginger, garlic, onion, long hot pepper, poblano pepper, whole dried chili peppers, bay leaf, cane vinegar, soy sauce, mayo and spices (onion powder, garlic powder, lemon powder, cracked black pepper, sea salt, chili powder). I added a pat of butter and squeezed some lime juice at the very end, and garnished with diced onion, long hot pepper and poblano pepper. 😋 It’s so flavorful and delicious! We ate it with rice, but we talked about how great it would be in tacos, on nachos, in burritos and in an omelette! 🤤 Next time I’m definitely making much more, because we finished all of it. 😄
Pulled out all the stops (and blow torch 🔥) for @kcoffeylines last night. Look at that char! 😂😂😂 #foodpun Sashimi from @fishtalesseafoodmkt and #glutenfree (and glutenfull) pizza by @therealcolinbixler. There couldn’t be a more #thatssobixler meal now that I think about it 🙃
