Tonight, I made some homemade gnocchi and seared a duck breast to accompany a limited release single vineyard bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Oh, and baked some banana bread for dessert.
Last day of maternity leave. It means I’m going to be away from you for a couple of hours a day. If I could pay all my bills just working 4 hours a day I would do that so I could be with you more lol but mommy and daddy got a mortgage and I have a car payment and student loans and other crap to take care of😭😂I promise I’ll go home right after work and spend all weekends with you even until you’re old and have kids of your own and you get tired of me. As long as I’m breathing I will always put you first. I love you Isaiah 😢😩 I’m not crying!!! #backtowork#lastdayofmaternityleave#babyboy#firsttimemom#baby#heartandsoul#adulting#momlife#breastfeedingmom#3monthsold
Toasting the end of @mogs27 maternity leave - tomorrow is the start of our next chapter. Celebrating the wonderful job she’s done with Macsen, especially during the difficult reflux months. We’re both very lucky to have you. #lastdayofmaternityleave
Today is my last official day on maternity leave and I am spending it with my world exploring our little world of Kirkby Fleetham. Family days are super rare as bobby is Mr Busy with one thing or another so I couldn’t be happier right now. Apologies for the sop but I just want to say a huge big THANK YOU to the man who has worked his ass off to provide for his family this last year, making my year of maternity leave (and no pay!) possible. I will never get this time back again with both girls and I am so grateful and lucky to have been able to take full advantage of the maternity entitlement. Even if I have often thought work would have been so much easier! Thank you from all 3 of us @rocheewright xxx #lastdayofmaternityleave#thankyou#byebyeblancmangebrain#hellopayday
I purposely didn’t set any fitness goals before going back to work. My number one priority was baby Shayne and learning how to be a mom. I don’t always know if I’m doing things right in that department, but each day is a learning process and a beautiful journey I have been so blessed to experience. I told myself if I can get back to pre-baby weight and running again, that would be awesome, but I wasn’t going to beat myself up if I didn’t get there. Well I’m proud to say I’m just 1 pound away from pre-baby weight (even though my body is still squishy) and I was able to get to hit my fastest 5K (and some) in more than a year! I’m still not as fast as when I was in my best shape, but I’m stronger than I was yesterday! Thank you to my mom for always encouraging me to keep pushing! #runningmoms#lastdayofmaternityleave#crushingmygoals#freestyleeffect
Last day of maternity leave... bittersweet! It has been one of the most challenging years of my life. A year full of surprises, steep learning curves, laughter, tears, little sleep, small steps, big leaps, new friends, lots of coffee, nighttime cuddles, ladies CrossFit, open mouthed kisses, spills, daily laundry, sore nipples, long walks, nieces and nephews, nappies, bottles, endless flights and most importantly: 2 blue eyes, blond hairs, soft skin, baby scent, rosy cheeks and the most gorgeous smiles. I know every woman thinks that their child is the most wonderful child in the world, but you know what? Mine is 😍. #lastdayofmaternityleave#kiwimum#fitmum#bumbamagookmee#bittersweet
Officially down 9.25 inches and down 6 pounds during Phase 1! A total of 43 pounds down since giving birth and 6 pounds below my pre-pregnacy weight. I'm so proud of myself to finish this 1st phase on the last day of my maternity leave!!! The progress picture left to right is:
*March 25th before #21dayfix
*April 22nd at the start of #80dayobsession and end of 21DF
*Today 5/20 after Phase 1 @ 12 weeks postpartum
I'm so excited for the challenge of phase 2 to begin and to see what progress is in store over this next month. I know it will be different while being back to work but healthy habits lead to positive changes and progress so I know there are only good things to come! I can't wait to feel even stronger, more confident and happy in my own skin.
Thank you to my amazing hubby for supporting me on this journey and to the amazing group of women I've found that keep me motived daily.
Really going to miss this place during the weekdays! It’s where I have spent the majority of my maternity leave days! Goodness knows how many miles I have covered with the buggy as I’ve watched it change through the seasons this year! Lucky to have this all on our doorstep!
I ❤️ Tilgate Park.
My last day of maternity leave. I’ve had 6 months off and I know how lucky I am. I’m not complaining, (to all my stay at home mom friends you’re amazing) I’m just reflecting on this wild ride. Ella’s story is completely different than Noah’s (as it should be). I’m beyond blessed to be chosen to be this little peanuts momma. She’s gonna love daycare and all the love those boys are gonna give her. Now, we are gonna run errands and get coffee. #ellajune#adoptionislove#lovemakesafamily#lastdayofmaternityleave#tooyoungforcoffee
The hubs and I chose to take this final day of my maternity leave, send Mads to Daycare, and spend a day together before things get really busy (at least I assume so ... school is busy, but working full time is going to come with its own challenges).
After we got Maddy in bed, we took the time to cook together and drink some of the wine we bought in Kelowna.
Grilled flat bread with grilled pears, baby spinach, prosciutto, and feta. A perfect way to end this last chapter.
Oh, and don’t get any ideas, that dough came from a can, I can’t be a total gourmet!
One other thing, I passed all my classes 😃, that is all 💃🏻👊
