Can't start my Shoulder Saving Strategies series without revisiting a couple of videos I recently posted. The bottoms up kettlebell press is one of the most useful exercises to include in your repertoire of exercises for protecting and injury proofing your shoulders.
Everybody wants to push heavy weight so they can build giant delts but almost nobody has earned the ability to do so. Want to transform your body and your health? Start small- you can't make progress if your shoulders are killing you all the time.
The stabilizing component in this lift is substantial enough for you to be unable to use even remotely heavy weight. All of the challenge in this lift is on your ability to keep it from falling over, kinda like a Super Mario level where you're on ice and you're slipping around everywhere. Don't let your form slip here.
Use this exercise as a standalone warm up or combo it with another exercise like I did with the lunge. You can hold the position for a squat or a carry too. Up to you, but if you have shoulder pain or have had pain in the past, it would be a pretty dang good idea to start including this bad boy in your routine.

This morning’s PT consisted of me bursting one of my blisters lifting 105kg 🙄 trying to do split squats and getting some solid punches in the ring. Whenever I’m asked how I am, the default answer is "large." I'm excited, exhausted, anxious, bursting with love for this little guy who knows nothing of the world yet.

I should probably start actually coming into the gym and working out because so far my strategy of paying for membership and not setting foot in the place, has, to my astonishment, failed to make me healthier, fitter or thinner.
Being fat has made me much more appreciative of the body that I had when I thought I was fat.
It would appear that the last decade has essentially just been a massive snackccident.
For the record, pleather was a legitimate fashion statement in the mid 2000’s, I just didn’t do it justice.
I was taking my weekly “bump” photo and heard two tiny voices say, “Mom! Can we take one with you and the baby!?” I’m just like.. Hell yes you can, babies!
30 WEEKS GUYS! Its so bittersweet because I know I won’t be pregnant much longer.. I know I sound like a broken record but I love every. single. thing. about pregnancy. I’m very lucky to be pretty comfortable during my pregnancies as I grow and I’m SO lucky to have such smooth deliveries.
I accredit this to staying active while pregnant. Whether that’s CrossFit, hiking, swimming, yoga.. whateva! Staying active and keeping our bones and joints moving while all this change and growth happens is so important. Although I’m a little biased and think weight training is still so important while pregnant. 😉
