🌶 PEPPER DIP 🌶
Y’all been asking me for some of my favorite pepper dip and how to make them. Well...let me tell you. There’s SO MUCH to choose from 😱 The hard part is to decide which one to share with you all first.
This one is the most popular in our family for boiled pork or any grilled meats. Hit me up with some of your favorite pepper dip! 🥵
Purchased a sausage maker on a whim. This is the hubs and my first attempt at making Lao style sausage (sai oua) with venison. Meat is a little too lean for my liking, but overall not too shabby. #laofood#venison
📍San Francisco, SOMA
🍗 LAO Fried Rice - laotian style fried rice, minced chicken, thai basil, organic chicken wings, & fried egg.
🦀“Khao Poon” Crab Curry - fermented rice noodles, coconut, “Alaska King Crab” curry, & pennywort garnish.
🍹Thai Iced Tea - so good!
🙋🏻♀️ Wow, these portions were huge! The fried rice was super flavorful, and was fried to that best combination of crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside (sound like anyone you know? 😉). And when I sliced into that egg, the yolk was still nice and runny (my favorite). As for the fried chicken, it could’ve been seasoned a bit more perhaps. It was a little bland and paled in comparison to the other two dish components. But overall, a solid #friedrice dish!
The crab curry was good too, though it felt a little too healthy with all of the vegetables and the lack of crab meat. But the curry was rich and had the subtle taste of crab, so that might’ve been what saved it! Overall, probably a dish I’d order if I wanted to eat healthy that day 💪🏼
Khaopoon Nam Ngeow (ເຂົ້າປຸ່ນນໍ້າງີ້ວ) is another dish that you need to try if you find yourself in Northern Laos and Thailand. The star ingredient is dried red cotton flour (ດອກງີ້ວ) from which this dish gets its name from. The broth starts off clear but is then infused with tomatoes before spicy ground pork and pork blood cake is added. The noodles are eaten with a variety of veggies, including pickled mustard greens too (which I didn’t have this time).
Beef egg noodles soup!
Dim Sum Garden is our go-to place for some quick and quiet dim sum!
As I get ready to order our usual. I notice from the corner of my eye I saw a staff member slurping on a long strand of egg noodles. It may have been coincidence, but I love OODLES!🤪
So as the story goes, I ask the server what the other staff is eating? She informed me that the dish was actually beef noodle soup!🤤
In my head, I said to myself (I want that!) I immediately placed an order!🙌
The beef broth was very flavourful, the beef was tender, and there was TONS of noodles! (Which was my favourite part) I didn't really care for the soggy lettuce. Make sure you ask for a side chili oil! For those who like the HEAT🥵
The NOODLES are a must try!!!!
