Ok...sharing time. I'm currently on vacation in the US but at the same time I have a show to get ready for at the end of October.
So what can I do in order to still enjoy my vacation and stay on course at the same time. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
1️⃣Know thyself. Know and accept your genetics. Do you gain weight easily or do you have a fast metabolism? Knowing this and living by it is a must. This might not be good to hear but if you gain weight fast you'll have to be stricter. I'm sorry. That's the way it is. Play the cards you've been dealt. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
2️⃣Pick 1 meal to fully enjoy and be mindful the rest of the meals. Sometimes I'll have a big breakfast with waffles and pancakes and the lot but then afterwards I'll just have a protein shake for lunch and for dinner a lean protein source, some carbs and lots of veggies. Pick your poison and adapt the rest of your day. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
3️⃣Practice intermittent fasting. If I see a lot of calories coming for dinner I'll just skip breakfast. I'll push my eating forward untill lunch or maybe a little bit later. Just know that IF is not magic. If you have McDonald's for lunch and two large pizzas for dinner, the fact that you skipped breakfast won't do anything for you. It's all about calories at the end of the day. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
4️⃣Stay active. Walk instead of driving. I love morning cardio or morning walks. Again....these things don't give you a free pass to pig out. The number of calories that are burned with these activities are always grossly overrated. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
5️⃣Play the calories vs volume game. Go for foods that contain few calories per volume. For example. You can eat a lot more potatoes than pasta for the same calories. 100 grams of potatoes and 100 grams of pasta....there is a difference. The obvious choice is vegetables. You can fill your stomach with vegetables and have almost no calories. Filing your stomach stimulates satiety and decreases hunger. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
6️⃣If all else fails and you don't have a deadline or a show on the horizon....you can always just mellow out and accept that you'll gain some weight during your vacation. After all, life is not just about having visible abs. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Time passes more slowly here. Maybe it’s the pacific time zone that sets it back hours behind most of the country. Or the way the sun gently spreads its glow with the right amount of heat. And how cruising down the streets or sitting in the city’s infamous traffic will slow the perception of time.
Yet perhaps it’s simply because home is where time stands more still. No matter how much changes under the sun, LA’s familiarity warms my heart like no other. It seems the more I distance myself (geographically and life-wise) from home, the more I feel inseparable from it.
Less ME more WE
I’ve been surrounded by many amazing, supporting, women lately that push and inspire me to be better because they see and believe in my potential and want the world for me. Specifically two I’m very grateful for lately; they get my busy schedule, understand my thought process, and embrace my crazy big dreams vs laugh at them. (Thank you @kaithughson & @ayeshasehra )
It just show that there is room to support others, you don’t need to think of others as your competition. They should be your teammates; there’s plenty of room in the world for us ALL to win.
Tag those that inspire and encourage you to do & be better, I’d love to fill my feed with more amazing people! ❤️
Some of my cousins mentioned my #BabyBrudder recently and I said he’s been busy. Super busy. This is a #RP from @michael_colyar- on the set of @snoopdogg’s video, and I spy with my little eye BRUDDER! 😍 (I don’t care that he’s grown, he’s still my baby brother 🙄)
I guess I forgive you @spoon_mafia for not coming to Bahamas with us. I’m proud that in all of these years, no matter the deviation you’ve always returned to your dreams. Not letting anything nor anyone deter you. Do 👏🏾 the 👏🏾 damn 👏🏾 thing! 😘
