Hello friends 👋 I know it’s not even thanksgiving yet, but I’m already feeling the stresses of the holidays. Portrait season is in full swing, and combined with finals coming up, my other job, my internship, and planning for after college, I’m swamped! Surprisingly, I’m doing okay though! I feel like I’m re-learning how to trust God again.
After a few long years of being frustrated with the church and not having the motivation to connect with God, I feel like he’s shaping my heart in a new way. I’m not sure exactly how he’s doing it, but I know that I’m changing a lot on the inside. I’m desiring more of him and wanting something different in my life than how I normally make it myself. I think it’s about learning to slow down. As a naturally fast-paced person who prides herself on being busy, I’m learning to embrace slowness and being fine with not getting things done at hyper speed. In order to truly slow and be okay with things not getting done quickly, or not getting done at all, it’s about trusting God and letting go.
I’ve always been bad about trusting God, but I want to do it more. In the rare case when I do, I’m more relaxed and productive. I’m also happier and more in community with my friends and family. It’s hard, but not as hard as people think.
So in the wise words of Matthew 6:34, “do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Today has enough trouble if its own.”
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” -Isaiah 12:2
I know I say this a lot but I always take time at my family sessions to get fun photos of just mom and dad. It’s so important and special for your kids to see and for you to remember amidst the craziness of life the love that built your family. Most parents say to me afterwards, “Wow that felt like our wedding day or just after we got engaged!” And I’m like welp, then mission accomplished 😊
I love this beautiful lake! Dreamed up a magical design last weekend for Natalie + Grant’s summer lakefront wedding! Spent 7 sweet hours with Natalie and her momma - and it felt like sitting with family! 💗Can’t wait for their big day! Gorgeous shot captured by our friend @sylviegil on the @wg2laketahoe !
HEY!!! I’m currently transferring info to a client management system. If we’re working together next year you should’ve received an email from me today. Email me if you have any questions! It will be a custom platform where we can communicate and have all your info in one space. Also be patient as I navigate this new system. Just trying to stay organized for next year 🌙💫excited!

Brookelynn hugging her dad before walking down the aisle to Brandon is one of my favorite wedding ceremony moments ever. So much emotion (especially at the other end of the aisle!) in one brief moment.
