Distance: 150 km
End destination: Cascada de Tamul, Tamasopo & Sotano de Las Golondrinas, Aquismon
A wrong turn (& Google) brought us to a unique vantage point of Tamul waterfall. All alone at the top, we could see the mist that the water's momentum created from the 105 meter drop. It was surreal to see the boats full of tourists being dropped on a rock at the bottom of the falls for photos. Thanks Google!
From here we scurried to Aquismon to catch sight of millions of swallows returning to their cave for the night. We barely made it. These birds reach speeds as fast as 120 km/hr as the dive, making a rushing noise as they pass you. Spectacular! 🐦
Happy international mountain day! ⛰💕
Feeling blessed to be able to move in, on and around the mountains so often lately. Sometimes just seeing them in the background makes me happy 😌
The mountains in this photo are in this gorgeous place in Mexico, La Huasteca. There’s so much impassable brush and all sizes of thorns growing on just about everything around there! I fought my way trough it for a perfect composition until I got surrounded by all that biting nature with this particular 4 meters tall spear just standing right in the middle of my shot, but too deep in thorny bush to walk around it. So thanks for that local flora, but the mountains still look awesome even with you in the middle - nice try!

Distance: 5 km
End destination: Cascada Tamasopo & Punte del Dios, SLP
Explored a few water features in the region ⛲. The waterfall of Puente del Dios ends in a clear blue swimming hole with water cascading from every wall. Simply breathtaking.

Jorge took us through the temperate rainforest of San Luis Potosi to the puebla of Tamasopo in the Huasteca Potosina region. Tinsel intact! 🎄🎅⛄
