Thank you to everyone who has been attending my yoga for inversions course. Yesterday was focused on handstands, particularly coming up through a scissor kick. I’m really enjoying handpicking drills from all my past experiences for those in the room. Next week is the last one looking at 2 footed entries to handstand (hello tuck straddle and pike) and some more challenging core exercises! If you wish to join it’s 5.30pm @upstairsatsix on Friday £10 drop in or move gb 🤸♀️💕🙏
„THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGINS WITH A SINGLE STEP“
We had a quick but super fun jam session with @sarajanelarocque 👯♀️ and tried part of a flow we saw at @acroyogavancouver with super fun transitions🍭
And all I could focus on was the shakiness of it all and enjoy the process 🙈 it is really easy to just see the faults and what needs to improve instead of what already got better.
We are all work in progress, enjoy wherever you are on your journey and keep moving!🤸🏻♂️💫
Hey @hadleyalison will you make a shape with me? Let’s bring your feet to the wall, keep walking them up, now I’m going to take my hands away.........
Excited for my yoga inversions class tonight, followed by @scott_lifts and @michaela_flies workshop then off to London tomorrow to teach handstands on body parts with @bodhitrix_play at @acroyogasanctuary ‘s Xmas festival. Then Sunday morning class. Whoop 🙌
My baby @jamie.rosez basing me! 💪💖 The pre-Mom me really wanted to have a girl, and my goal was to help her become the person I always wished I could be. I was considering it as my second chance. But I never imagined that in the process I would slowly become that person and have the chance to live my own dreams. As for her, this girl has far exceeded any hopes I had for her. And although I've been living with this realization for a little while now, I'm still in awe of this miracle and so very grateful for it.
Moments that change everything... when you realize your tiny arms can hold up another human being in handstand....
Strength and beauty. Strength is the partnership; trust is the beauty ❤️🙏🏻 Moments to remember from this weeks training at the Bangkok Post Acro Convention 2018 #badass#ladybase#acroyoga#happiness
“The world needs strong women. Women who will lift and build others, who will love and be loved. Women who live bravely, both tender and fierce. Women of indomitable will.” -Amy Tenney
So thankful for the strong women in my life that I learn from everyday!
It’s almost the end of the year. Which tends to mean some reflection time.
#throwback to our very first photo shoot together once we decided to teach together and start this #acrobeauties fun.
It’s amazing to watch yourself progress over the months, over the years, through decades. But change is noticeable even in short amounts of time. Especially when you work on something consistently.
Double tap if you’ve looked back at photos of yourself even from the last year and thought “damn. Look how far I’ve come!” .
What’s your biggest growth point been? .
Ours is in the comments.
🐯 ¡Roar! This is my happy face. And this one was after an Acro move I didn’t do. Because SPOTTING IS AWESOME!
My spotters have enabled me to do so much and I’m so grateful for them.
They allow me to do things while keeping my flyers safe.
Nothing is more important to me than happy flyers.
To be able to return the favor to @acroant and @simonacrodicted was such a thrill.
They’re trying a move that takes years of building strength and precision to achieve. Me? I’m fucking inspired.
Pound for pound I want to be as strong as Kelly.
Precision wise—I would love to have that kind of control.
Trust-wise the communication between them was superb and it was great to be there while they worked through failed attempts.
Thank you for being such a super and extreme example of what is possible.
If you haven’t tried Acro yet—please know this.
Not all attempts are as extreme as this one....BUT the excitement of achieving a move is no different.
And the partner Acrobatic journey feels like this all the way through.
Understanding my body and how it can work with others has been my path to an effervescent life. I wish the same for you.
Also—I cant wait to try something similar a few years from now.
Who’s gonna #ladybase me?! @gemma_acroyoga @yuuuko__u5 @mana.hirose @findingjeny @happy_hippiekid @unitedstatesdetara — I challenge you! #longjourneyfunjourney#inspired#acrobatics#bangkokacroconvention#thailand
Some Tuesday night comedy after classes. Can you spot the difference as we move right and left!? A seamless and smooth transition featuring @amber_pamba and @laurasuzibrown Thanks for the giggles! Swipe for a blooper 🤸♀️🙏😂
Special shoutout to the lovely and graceful @emplays today. She continues to help me find my grounding in myself and in my community, and I will always be thankful for that ❤️ Photo by @xanadu4
R E P R E S E N T A T I O N | matters! You cannot be what you cannot see and I am so grateful for all the women out there helping me to see that I can do things that I previously thought were beyond my physical capabilities because I’ve only ever seen men doing it •
Take this pose for instance, I’ve seen lots of photos of guys basing this. So, when I first tried it and found it really hard I gave up too quickly. I put it down as one of those poses that needs some serious brute strength that I don’t have and so I never revisited it
Rewind a few weeks ago, I saw @nathalie.sophia and @marie.luna.lu had posted a photo of them doing this pose and seeing that they could do it gave me the confidence to try it again. Seeing is believing and so when @movewithtara and I tried this with fortified self-belief (not muscles) it turns out we could do it
Which kind of brings me back to why I first started posting on Instagram in 2014. I noticed a real absence of female bases and I encountered a lot of sexism from the acro community when I first started learning. This space has been my outlet to share with other women the same empowerment I have felt from lifting other people up and receiving the same empowerment and inspiration in return 💪👯♀️ | 🎥 If you want to see how we got into this pose then head over to @movewithtara who has posted the video 👖 glittery matching set of dreams by @beyondyoga via @thesportsedit #gift
