Well, now I have something a little bit further than the last one I posted. This is Hiruma Jin, my crab clan bushi who left the wall in search for the meaning of all his misfortune.
Later I'll find time to work on his kabuto.
Inspired by @shibitobeta ‘s 9 RPG books or box sets that define me as a roleplayer here are mine!
Heroes Unlimited - the first non-D&D game I played (earlier version than this) and the source of much hijinks.
Cyberpunk 2020 - need I say more, choomba
Clanbook Toreador - my very first VtM book and the start of my over 20 years in the WoD
City of Lies - my favourite setting for L5R (the proper one not that d20 or later crap)
Weapons, Armor [sic] and Castles of the Orient - symbolic of my love of home brewing content (I miss Destiny’s End)
Pirate Nations - my first RPG purchase online way back in the day as it was hard to find locally.
Book of Nod - what a lorebook/prop can be when done right.
Wraith the Oblivion - opened my eyes to something so different to anything else I’d seen at that time.
The 1000 Hells - had to represent KotE and went for this as it’s just pure gnarly hellscapes of all sorts.
Scenario: A very small, poor village in Dragon lands has been ravaged by nature. You have been sent to assess the situation. You find Scorpion clan samurai handing out food and aid. The Scorpion claim to only be helping those in need. The other clans believe the scorpion are up to no good.
Kicking the Scorpion out now could lead to widespread loss of lives.
What do you do? How do you explain your actions to the other clans?
⛰💨LEGEND OF THE FIVE RINGS 🌊🔥 Revisited this awesome, and atmospheric card game by Fantasy Flight Games. This was my first game in several months and with a new player, who hadn’t played the previous version either. Not quite as heavy or daunting as I remembered and we actually finished our game. I played as the defensive Crab Clan 🦀 against the enlightened Dragon Clan 🐉. The game has a grand, sweeping, epic feel. I love the multiple victory conditions of military, honor or dishonor. And the conflict phase is a fascinating back and forth and a mini game all of itself. Every piece of this production oozes class and elegance too. @teamcovenant recently discussed presence in tabletop, in their podcast - this game has it in spades.
Battle for Stronghold, the event that will determine which clan controls the store, kicks off this Saturday!
Check out the event details here:
Things got crazy in the fourth round. Now, in the finale of the war, one of the guys is going ham and breaking clans left and right- he's kicked the Crane Clan entirely out of their own territories, and is beginning to evict the rest of us. Now, with our time running out, it's a frantic dash to do some last-minute damage. Who will survive?
Hint: the guy in the last photo, with freakin' 44 VP. Jeez.... #boardgames#tabletopgames#battleforrokugan#rokugan#legendofthefiverings#l5r
Getting a late start, but it's definitely a good game to begin the night with! Battle for Rokugan is a fun game for up to five players, set in Rokugan (the setting for the popular RPG Legend of the Five Rings, based on feudal Japan). Tile-placing strategy over five rounds, plus good friends and (with the right group) excellent- if quirky- roleplay makes for a very fun time!
If you've checked out all the pictures, you'll see Silver Gulch, 1883- a nifty-looking environment for Sentinels of the Multiverse. This will definitely fit into our group's story arc!
