1 (4-5 pound) minute steak roast
2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
4-5 fresh thyme stalks
2 tbsp. fresh black pepper
2-3 tsp. kosher salt
2 tbsp. coconut oil
4 large white sweet onions, thinly sliced
2 pints of baby button mushrooms
For the Gravy:
1/4 cup thick sweet teriyaki
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce •
1. Remove the meat from the fridge and leave at room temperature for about 30 minutes before roasting. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Generously rub the roast with the garlic, thyme, salt and pepper.
3. Add the oil to the bottom of the pan. Arrange the onions and mushrooms in a large, oven safe pot (I use a cast iron Dutch oven). Place the roast over the the onions.
4. Transfer to the oven and roast until the roast registers 120 to 125 degrees F for medium-rare, for rare about 35-45 minutes, depending on the size of your roast. It's best to use a meat thermometer.
5. Remove the roast from the pot to a serving plate and cover with foil. Let rest 20 minutes minutes before slicing.
6. Meanwhile, using a slotted spoon remove all the onions and mushrooms from the pot into a large skillet. Add about a 1/2 cup of the liquid as well.
7. Turn on the heat to medium high and then add the teriyaki and the Worcestershire sauce. Mix everything well with a spatula and let it cook down for
8. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
9. Slice the roast and serve with the French Onion Gravy

Did you know the average American is exposed to over 80,000 chemicals and toxins?! This is WHY giving our bodies a chance to detox through a cleanse is SO important!
Did you also know the importance of seasonal cleansing? Seasonal cleansing gives our bodies a chance to reset and promotes optimal health. Ever notice how colds seem to go around at the start of each new season? That’s because our immune systems are weakened with the start of each new season due to the different types of toxins and chemicals we are exposed to. ☀️🍁🎄💐 For example, we’re exposed to chlorine pools, sunscreens, and lots of backyard bbqs & treats in summer, in the fall is Halloween candy and Thanksgiving, the winter brings heavier foods into our diet and less activity outdoors as we spend more time in sealed houses, and finally spring comes with the dreaded allergy and pollen season. .
For anyone who has lost their health at any time, knows what a gift and blessing good health is! So why don’t we do more to take care of ourselves? I will be doing the #30daystohealthyliving cleanse again on Oct. 1st, to give my body the nutrition and vitamins it needs to strengthen my immune system and flush my gut of toxins. I would love to do it with you and see the transformation our health and bodies will make!

Talk about tradition...
This cake is one of those that my mom used to bake when we were kids... Was also found in every sukkah, on every table, in everyone's freezer... My father had this "tradition" of visiting his siblings on chol hamoed (every half a year)... Wanting to sound professional, there was plates of cakes n goodies served to us, as we did our rounds (usually in the same day... Lol) Of course, the confection sugar ladened yumminess memory stayed with me...
Idk what type of "gold" these layers have, they're just soooooo deliciously put together... The flaky, cream, cake... OMG!! Insane!! Topped with a floury layer of freshly sifted confectioners..... Hmmmmmm.... 😋😋😋
That first bite... The sugar goes flying in allllllll directions..... Ya know... It's just a part of the "tradition"... 😉
I haven't made this cake in about 10 years!! Yeah! I used to be "very traditional"... Well.... Only until our journey pushed us out of the comfort-zone n into some great adventures!! I don't even wanna turn back!
Got me to try interesting ingredients... Creating new, more modern, more flavorful, different texture recipes... I am really enjoying every moment!!
But.... When cravings get the better part of you... Hey! There is when older, more systematic stuff come to the horizon... (Y systematic? Read the beginning... Used to reallllllly be on every single bingle jingle sukkah table... Like from the smallest sukkah to the most regal huge one!!)
Nonetheless, these squares are worth every bite!!

“Love your neighbor” is the universal Golden Rule, which is referred to as a great principle of Judaism. ✡🥇 If we all humanity lived by it every day, all of our problems would be solved. 🌎❤ Therefore, is our duty to lead by example, and love those who are around us not only with feelings and words, but with actions that make a difference. 😃 Have a blessed day! 🙏🕊 #ThursdayThoughts

Today is inaugural #NationalFriedRiceDay ! Aventura-based Benihana founded this day with National Day Calendar because high-quality #rice is a foundational element of every meal served by the largest operator of teppanyaki restaurants in the nation—to the tune of roughly 2,720,350 pounds of California-grown rice each year. We’re celebrating this auspicious day with Chef Chris Bybee’s Hawaiian Jasmine Blend, Fried Rice Style with SPAM. Don’t scoff: SPAM’s much loved in Hawaii and by LOTS of folks on the mainland. This dish featuring our Jasmine Blend (aromatic #jasminerice , split baby #garbanzos and #daikonradishseeds ) is simple AND delicious.
