@greg.gropp forgot his maple syrup today 🍁 Lad’s about to doze off 😴 LOOK AT THIS LAZY GUY
How much sugar is too much anyway? Because you can totally have sugar without it affecting your end result in fat loss. In fact that serotonin and dopamine release (feel good hormones) from sugar can actually speed up those results through metabolic efficiency and a more sustainable approach to dieting. If used correctly, sugar can also help to decrease cortisol (stress), leading to better quality sleep, faster recovery and better digestion.
Don’t skew my words though. Half a dozen donuts will do a lot more damage than good 🍩 especially if it’s because you stole them from me because you’d be dead. This advice isn’t for those who know that sugar is their issue!
But that aside, I’m referring to a little sugar post workout or pre bed to help reduce high cortisol post training or reducing it to help quality of sleep. And sugar like 🍌🍍 is a little better to produce this result than 🍪🍰 but don’t be afraid of having it occasionally either.
I’m going to be brutally honest. If you consider yourself overweight or insulin resistant (feel sluggish after carbs is a good symptom to note), then reduce sugar down like a mofo. However, if neither of these apply to you, then by all means include sugar.
Here’s a good indicator you’re not having too much sugar: you feel more energy after eating it and you don’t crash. If you crash or you notice any gut issues/noises after, then chill brah! Stay away from it and work on your insulin sensitivity - resistant starch and other short chain fatty acid foods (google dooood) are good here (plus the added gut bacteria benefits). 🥔
Just remember this. Sugar isn’t the enemy, excess calories is. Sugar can just “trigger” overeating, so remember this before you go and steal my donuts 🍩
ALWAYS say yes when an old friend asks if you’d like to go on holiday with her 😍
You’ll have way more fun and great times than you ever imagined, and if you’re lucky you’ll come back even better friends 💖
Thanks Jean, my psychic / sister / twin / friend (people couldn’t make us out!) - I’ve loved hanging out with you for four weeks 🤣😉😝 And to everyone who’s been hanging out for her fantastic coffee @napier_coffeecorner - you haven’t got long to wait now!!!
Frosty the skuxxy snowman ☃️ Be careful this winter ladies. There could be a skuxxy snowman on your corner waiting for it’s chance to strike. Be on your guard... or carry a blowtorch.🔥
📸 some very lovely random lady who got reeled in by the skuxxy snowman’s charming eyes and tremendous biceps
Looks like all good things must come to an end. It’s been a fabulous trip, met so many wonderful people and had such a great time with a very special friend 💕 Just that last long haul flight to get thru now and we’re home 😎✈️😍
You mean you haven’t had coffee here yet?!? Are you crazy? 😜
Superb food, amazing coffee (my first flat white in Colombia and it was so good I had to buy another immediately...) This place absolutely rocks. Get here 💕
A lot has changed for us in the past week! We left the Barrier, spent a while in Auckland, bought a car and got ourselves a job on a farm further north! This is the amazing view we now get to wake up to every day 😍
Panama you were always going to get me ❣️ Growing up listening to my grandfather’s stories about his travels through the canal has meant this trip has been very special.
What I hadn’t realised was the extent of this man made feat. The canal stretches some 80 kilometres from Colon in the Caribbean Sea through Gatun Lake to Panama City opening onto the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely incredible 🌟
We are missing our two fur babies back home and find ourselves playing with this Frenchie@at the park. We pet loads of dogs while away because we miss our Frenchie’s @frenchies.nz sooooo much. Often we go to pet stores to get our fix of fluffy friends and buy up a storm of treats to take home to our babies🐶🐾❤️

@dollfaceapparelco sorry I got to excited and had to share it
Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you’re alive it isn’t.
I’ll probably never become what I wanted to be when I grow up because when I was 5 I wanted to be an Old McDonald’s Farmer 👨🌾 and an Astronaut 👨🚀 at the same time. Pretty dam ambitious 5 year old if you ask me 😂
Somewhere along the line, people start telling us to dream smaller and more achievable goals so we can actually hit them.
I’m not going to be an Old McDonald’s Farmer Astronaut... But I am going retire my parents, own a Fiji Island Resort (my dream from 8 years old), and have an institute helping people with mental health problems around the entire globe.
Maybe... Not for the 5 year old me though 😉
But at least if I fall short, I’m going to be WAY better off with where I end up than if I had listened to everyone telling me to stick to hospitality just because I was good at it.
No way dooood! I used to have to greet people with “Bonjour” when I worked in a Sofitel Hotel in NEW ZEALAND and have every French bugger flipping out because I didn’t speak their language. Fair play to them... WHY DIDN’T WE SAY “KIA ORA” (Maori greeting). 😂😝 ... So ask yourself. What would the 5 year old you say to the you now if you set limitations on yourself just because they were too big.
I bet they would say DREAM BIGGER YOU DUMMY 😉
CHUR ❤️ 📸 @lukegow
Muffins are cupcakes that believed in miracles.
Just like me when I used to be on a see food diet 👀 like see food, and eat it.
No stopping Hangry Kez!
I didn’t think I could adopt healthy eating habits and stick to them. 🤤 But here I am able to eat one muffin and for that to be all the sweet I need for the day.
Here’s how to stop binging and intense cravings based off my personal experience and science.
The ultimate cause of binging is the requisite for a serotonin and dopamine release 🕺🏼 that is derived from the rush of blood and hormones to the gut when you fill it.
You might be down, stressed or addicted to the high you get from these hormones with your full stomach. Also the bonus hormonal release you get from the food when it’s YUM 😋 leads to people not just binging on food, but high calorie food.
These issues lead to the body “requiring” a release of these feel good hormones because your body automatically thinks it’s low on these hormones due to adapting to the high hormonal release as the norm. 🧠 Now cortisol goes up because you’re not getting your “required” hormonal hit.
So how do we fix this?
We find other ways to get this release whenever the trigger is set off.
As soon as your cravings get irresistible or that binge feeling is creeping up on you 🍩 you use that as a trigger to go and do something that produces serotonin and dopamine.
Here are some examples of things you can do...
• Watch something funny
• Do something scary and fun like dancing in the middle of the street, bungee jumping, talk to a random
• Sex (the best one)
Don’t just mate like rabbits. 🐰 Be responsible here lol. I mentioned sex in case this is a possibility for you because you have a lovely “other person” or you’re just a plain skux.
I recommend using the binge feeling as a trigger for working out 🏋🏽♀️ as it programs the body to crave exercise more. It also makes you less likely to get that feeling of wanting to binge, since you have taught your body how to gain that required hormonal release through other means when they are perceptively “low”. 🤔
It starts with perspective, takes discipline, then becomes habit. 🔥
