“The kitchen is the heart of the home”- I truly believe this especially if you are a homeschooling family with 4 children and a daddy that works from home a lot. I cook three meals a day from scratch so you can usually find us in our kitchen either cooking, eating, cleaning, learning, playing or just chatting! We spent more time designing our kitchen than any other space! We incorporated so many things that are going to be both functional and fun. One of my favorites is my pass through window to our screened in porch. I knew from the beginning I wanted this feature but it took a lot of time and research to make it happen. Due to Florida’s strict building codes, the hydraulic window in picture 3 was not an option plus it was about $5,000! The sliding glass window in picture 4 is priced in the $1,000 per linear sq foot equating to approximately a $20,000 window! I finally found picture 5 and my window guy priced it as $3,000. It doesn’t seem that bad compared to the others, but when you realize all the windows for the entire house are only $12,000, it’s a lot for one window! After 6 months of research, I finally spoke with the window guy we ended up using and he told me about an @andersen_windows French casement window that would do exactly what I wanted for $1,800 I wanted to reach through the phone and hug him! In the second picture, thanks to these amazing 3D renderings from @revival.farmhouse, you can get a closer look at this 48”x 60” window and how it functions with our porch. The countertop will continue out under the window for a counter height bar on the porch. We can use this to seamlessly serve food and to make those working in the kitchen feel like they are a part of the action when there’s a party on the porch! I am incredibly excited about this window and cannot wait to see it come to life!!! .
