Homemade kitchen cleaner. With Fall coming it's time to load up and munch on oranges to keep colds and flu at bay. What to do with the peels? Soaking the orange peels in spirit vinigar for a few weeks produces a vinigar based but orange scented cleaner. Waste not what not. The dark orange colored vinigar this produced can be diluted with water as it is quite strong.
All the benefits of cleaning with vinigar but now with orange zest and oils infused. I found that ants avoid areas I wiped down with this cleaner but won't go so far as to call it a bug killer. More like a mild deterent. It keeps my butcher block table and kitchen counters nice and clean and the wife likes to use it on the bathroom counters. #homemadecleaningproducts#oranges#fall2018#kitchencleaning#homemade
A freshly cleaned sink faucet that shines in the light can make your kitchen or bathroom look like it’s worth a million dollars. However, as with most things, sink faucets do not stay clean forever, and eventually the dreaded build-up of grime and gunk will return. 🚰
If your bathroom and kitchen sink fixtures are looking particularly dirty and you’d like to make them shine again, we’ve compiled our top four tips to help you understand how best to clean them. 📝👇
1. Know the finish of your faucet ✔️
Understanding the finish of your sink fixtures is vital as this determines which cleaning products and tools are best to complete the job. Check the finish of your faucet with the manufacturer and ask them which cleaning tool they’d recommend to clean it.
2. Try dish soap and warm water to clean the faucet ✔️
If your faucets aren’t particularly dirty, using dish soap and warm water with a cleaning cloth will work more often than not2. Simply rub the sink fixture down with the dish soap and dry with an unused cleaning cloth. Buff the faucet with the dry cloth to make it shine.
3. To remove a build-up of grime, try using white vinegar ✔️
If your sink fixtures have a bad grime problem that won’t budge, you’ll want to use white vinegar. Add half a cup of white vinegar to half a cup of hot water and dip a cleaning cloth into the solution. Test the solution on a small section of your faucet to ensure that it does not damage the fixture’s finish, before you go ahead and rub the solution over the grime.
4. A toothbrush and baking soda can help to remove stains ✔️
Baking soda is great at cleaning most surfaces. We’d recommend applying a small amount of baking soda to an old toothbrush and adding a very small drop of water. Scrub around your kitchen and bathroom faucets with the solution applied to the toothbrush to remove nasty stains.

Have just given my storage tins a wipe over with some @stardrops pine disinfectant, obviously as you can see I need to replace mine soon as they are starting to go a little rusty ( joys of having metal storage tins😞) but to make the lids shine just use a tiny bit of glass cleaner and wipe off using kitchen towel and they will be gleaming afterwards 👍 #cleaning#cleaninghacks#cleanfreak#tidyhome#kitchencleaning#nomoregerms#obsessivecleaner
