Mandarin duck / Mandarinand
Last winter this guy was visiting the area.
The species is native to southeast Asia but has been introduced around the world through farmers breading them.
This one is probably and escapee from a European breeder.

‘Take a bow!’
Have you ever seen this many shades of blue on any other creature?
The habitat of these wrens ranges from forest to dry arid scrub, generally with ample vegetation for shelter. Unlike the superb fairywren, it has not adapted well to human occupation of the landscape and has disappeared from some urbanised areas.
