Spent a few days in the Rio Grande Valley. Had some great looks at a lot of birds including two lifers in a Worm-eating Warbler and a rare Golden-crowned Warbler. Unfortunately, those birds are better left to be photographed by someone with a higher skill set. This, on the other hand, is a beautiful White Ibis sitting perfectly still for me. 😂
For all of my fellow Aussie back-yard-bird-watchers... the week ahead is going to be one in which spending lots of time looking up into the trees with a silly smile on your face (when you should be hanging the washing or something), will be entirely justified!
Birdlife Australia’s Aussie Backyard Bird Count begins on Monday (which still leaves you plenty of time to download the app 📲) and by the end of the week, it will have amassed a treasure trove of information to help the experts understand how our Aussie birds are faring with all of the challenges that they’re facing. And if that (and getting to know your backyard birds a little better) isn’t incentive enough, there are prizes for participating too! 🎁😊👍
So if you’d like to register for the count (and why wouldn’t ya? 😉😁) head on over to @birdlifeoz and follow the link in their bio. Highly purposeful feathered-friend appreciation and participation is only a click or two (and a day and a half) away!
