"Great acting is all about being in the moment, being in the present tense"
Tom Hooper | Film Director
Way back in Spring 2011 at @newyorkfilmacademy 's Union Square campus during Acting for Film class: "What is acting?", our instructor asked the class. A classmate raised his hand and answered: "Pretending to do something". Our instructor remarked, "You're close but not quite. Other hands?" It kept going until I decided to give it a shot, I raised my and answered, "Doing". The instructor looked at me, snapped his fingers and said: "Acting is Doing". During the show, two of our youngest @kindingsindaw members asked if I was crying and why I was crying. I answered them, "I am crying because this is how it should be. This is what our Director told us to do and this is what's needed for this scene." As I was researching and studying what's needed for my role in the show, I've come across that one of the things in becoming a good actor/actress is being able to quickly access your previous emotions and experiences and applying it to "the moment". I clearly remember the few minutes before the people start coming in to the theater, I trained myself that I had to be in character, that by the time they start entering, tears will be dripping from my eyes and after sometime weeping in sorrow and despair.
It always surprises me thinking how I was able to do it.
The saying is true: "Where there's a will, there's a way". 📸 cr:

"Take a chance. You never know how perfect something might turn out to be." 🌟
I'm glad I took the chance with @kindingsindaw 🙏 Thank you very much for choosing me as your T'boli bride. I'm humbled and honored. I will surely treasure and always remember this memory forever.
I still remember during auditions when my name was called out, and finally the moment I was chosen for the role, I vowed to myself that I will not let you down. That I will do whatever I can to execute my role the best possible I can. And to contribute as much as I can and not be a burden to the group.
Thank you very much for trusting and believing in me. It really means a lot. It is much appreciated. 🙏
I never thought I'd be performing in an off-broadway show in my entire life. Not to mention one of the lead characters too. No words can express how happy I am to be a part of MINDANAO: The Legend of Tabunaway, Mamalu and their Descendants. In the course of 7 months, I have learned so much. And I will continue learning more and more. I'm very grateful to all my dance instructors and friends in Kinding Sindaw. You guys are amazing. Thank you very much for your assistance and for your guidance. It was a pleasure working with you all and I can't wait to perform with you all again!
Mahal ko kayo! I love you all! ❤

Such awesome to work and collaborate with Kinding Sindaw! We would like to thank everyone who watched our show “Mindanao the Legend” at La Mama Annex Ellen Stewart Theater for coming here to support us. I have learned a lot from those rehearsals till the performances! It has been a great journey to all of us. Thankfully we were able to voice out the message of our ancestors. I may not be a Maranao, Iranun, Maguindanao, Tausug, Tiboli, Yakan, Manobo, Bagobo or a Moro but I came to learn and appreciate their ways of living and cultures. We support all the Lomads and all of the indigineous people out there! May we bring honour and pride in our roots! KS will always be a part of my family. Thank you everyone and love you all! Yiwei!
