- Spanje - shoutout time - Joehoe!
Clearly I should have sucked it up and carried my wide angle lens. As you can see if you swipe left though, my hands were already quite full 🤣 So while my photos of Sheikh Zayed don't exactly reflect the enormity of the place, at least you have adorable twins to gaze at 👧👱♂️
Maddyn our eldest is an absolute animal lover. She’ll play and pat anything of the sort.
We’re certain she’ll be a vet or marine biologist when she’s older.
There is just something about her an animals.
🐶 🐱 🐬 🐍 🐒🦄🦋
🤞 Hoping she doesn’t want to be the next crocodile hunter. 🐊
You were not born a statue
Nor rooted like a tree.
You were born a wild one;
A spirit pure and free.
No cage should hold you captive.
No title should define.
You’re flexible and fluid,
So can change at any time.
With nothing set in stone
And so much to explore
Wander down a million paths
And rattle every door.
Never stop adventuring.
Embrace your inner child.
Stay fearless & stay curious.
Stay positive. Stay wild.

Cycling in Cadiz
Yesterday was another beautiful clear day. We spent the day exploring Cadiz on our bikes, the boys, as usual, making everyone smile as they cruised past cuddling in the bike trailer.
We aren't a cycling family. A few months ago I hadn't ridden a bike since uni and Nicky had point blank refused to try using his balance bike. So when Si suggested spending quite a lot of money on ebikes and trailers and carting them across Europe I was dubious. Turns out it was a very good idea indeed.
👧🏼 A few days ago I posted a picture of Emery, asking for assurance that this stage/phase she was stuck in, would pass.🤞
🙌 Well it has 🙌
😆 For now anyways 🤦🏽♀️
She is back to her usual cheeky self, and throwing out words left right and centre.😍💬
Cheers, until next time 🥂
Palm trees have a way of naturally framing the perfect photo. They just always seem to be in the right spot! 🌴🏝
This photo was taken from the grounds around To Sua Ocean Trench in Samoa. The Trench is gorgeous, and an incredible place to visit and be in awe of nature’s wonders (swipe for a picture), but we found just as much beauty in this coastline behind it. 🌊 🌴
The vantage point let us see far down the coastline, watching wave after wave roll in. Just something about watching the ocean that brings peace and calm. Take a look at today’s stories for a video of this spot! 🐋🌊
We finally checked out @ithra today! It is in the Time 100 places to visit in the world 2018! Actually we just did the outside areas and the Energy Exhibit (the free bits 😂 thanks for the info @chelseawhittle ). The Energy exhibit has an oil rig inspired soft play and loads of great interactive displays. That, plus a walk outside, kept us busy for long enough. We’ll go back another day to try some of the other museum areas!
Things are relaxing a little more here in Saudi now so I decided to go covered up with abaya open!

The Magic World of Children!
They had no clue where we’re taking them. We haven’t either! At first glance they were thrilled, we’re devastated! 3 days here! We: 😂🤧😂They: 😍🤧😍👏❤️☀️💯😀😃😘😍In the end we all got very happy!!! How can you not be when your kids are having a blast!
Brave girl Aria just got her first turns of the season! We snuck out early this morning for a ski tour (skin up, ski down) and although I'm not one to generally make predictions, this year is looking like a pretty incredible snowpack. ❄️
Taking kids skiing: make it fun. Use hot chocolate wisely. Invest in warm snow clothes. Add a dose of patience to your arsenal. And lead by example. We've always been one to recommend #startthemyoung ; do you agree?

This might not be the best photo in technical terms but I love it nonetheless. 📸 In this photo, we were visiting our good friends who live in the Occitanie region of France and are like grandparents to our traveling trio. 👵👴 We love spending time with them and listening to their endless supply of stories of lives well lived.🎖️💂🎨 In this photo, our friend David, after having extensively discussed with Kas our latest travel escapade, pulled out an old dusty atlas and asked Kas to find on the map the places we had visited. 🗺️ Kas, who had never seen an atlas, asked David to just ask his phone. 😆 I laugh, but the truth is, technology has become so ubiquitous in today's world that we don't even consider the things that our kids won't get to experience. And it kind of makes me sad. 😔 But luckily, David was not pleased with the answer Kas had given him and proceeded to instruct him in the use of an atlas. 🌍 Well, let me tell you, Kas loved it and then spent an hour trying to find all the places he could remember visiting. 🗺️ And just like that, a simple visit with friends, turned into an unexpected but welcome learning opportunity. 🙏 I am thankful for moments like this. ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓
Have you experienced something like this with your children in your family travels? They discover this "ancient" way of doing things that they think belongs in a museum? 😆
